So here's an interesting tidbit about this particular truck camper. It was wired to run off of 110 OR the truck battery. As in, it doesn't have a battery, DC to AC inverter, or an AC to DC converter. So I'll have to get creative and build a new electrical system in the camper.

I want the ability to charge the batteries when hooked up to shore power and the ability to run some of the appliances when hooked up to the battery only. I'll add solar down the road.

I'm considering putting the battery bank, converter, and inverter in a toolbox beside the camper and then running all the lines and controllers inside. It's pretty close quarters inside the camper, so being able to remote mount the accessories will be necessary.

We'll see how much I get done before my shakedown trip in September. I'll be staying in the camper for 25 days while working onsite for the day job.

 

I was looking at the pictures and I thought man he could put some toolboxes and even cooking gear on the sides and save room in the camper.

 

plenty of room to hard mount a mini fridge with a keg inside.....

 

And he could mount a smoker on the trailer when he's not hauling the truck around.

 

just build an elevated smoker with some stairs up to it, that the truck can go under

 

I'm planning on putting one of these on each side. They'll hold spare parts, camp chairs, stove, etc.

There's already a fridge inside, although it's small. Big enough to hold food as needed. The Engel MT60 will have to serve as the beer fridge.

 

Might have to figure out how to do that with the truck on as well. Just a small one though. Big enough for four racks of ribs or two briskets.

I have a generator now, so we can run a kegerator at the Jambo booth instead of fighting to keep ice on the keg like we did this year.

Added toolboxes to the driver side of the trailer. I'll add two more to the passenger side when the money tree recovers a bit.

whats curb weight when smokey is on it and everything loaded down, just a guess would work

 

This is what I want to do. Do you know about how many tires a setup like this will fill?

 

Right around 12,000lbs, not including Bandit of course.

 

The 5lb tank should have 400 cubic feet of air in it since my 10lb is 800. I'd guess you could fill a set of 33" tires from flat to 30lbs at least four times with the 5lb tank.
