Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

The new gig is great. I havent worked an 8 hr work day in 15 yrs (always 12's, and 6 hrs on 6 hrs off when deployed as a sailor) so the shift fly's by. I'm now operating 3 1,200 psi superheated boilers, 4 3,500 ton chillers and all the aux equipment to go with a Co-Gen plant. And working with fellow military vets is a plus. Lots of sea stories and guys that wrench well and pay attention to detail. But we mostly just watch TV, tell jokes, and drink coffee in Main Control. Haha

I was a boiler tech in the Navy and been a Cogen power plant operator since. We're a rare breed. Behind the scenes stuff ya know. 9-5 Mon - Fri? What's that never heard if it. Haha. The bldg engineers (plunger pilots) and HVAC guys get a bit jealous when they see us hanging around appearing to never be doing anything, we usually arent doing anything, but when shit hits the fan we step in and get the plant back in order. What is it that you do?

I'm now at the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda. Great benefits and mainly made the change for the pension plus my military time transfers over which was a huge motivating factor.
