Riverview. He said I'm only the second one to bring it in so far. I did have my truck here 4 months ago for first service complaining about it, but they couldn't replicate it. Maybe now that there is a TSB they are being more cooperative and not thinking I'm just blowing smoke?

At the dealer as we speak. Showed them the TSB. Told them going from P to D has a huge delay and then a lunge forward. Also R to D has big delay. My truck drove fine for the first 1k miles then I started having these problems. They said they will take care of it today. Will update later

scheduled appt. on Monday 18-JUL-16. scheduled this last week for the front control arm whistle. called Friday to add the shift tsb issue.

dropped off the night before. sat on the back lot all morning, didn't move until after lunch.

previously they filled the transmission fluid, about 1qt low. this partially fixed the cruise control hunt but didn't fix the long delay between P to R or R to D issue and the surge while pulling into the garage.

ordered the plugs for the control arms. service manager didn't realize that 1 kit is only 1 plug, apparently you have to order 6 kits. have to go back for that resolution on the 01-AUG-16.

shift delay from P to R and R to D is now gone after software flash from tsb.

Just returned from getting mine done.
    • R to D delay almost gone
    • Surging gone
    • Had a cyclical hum/buzz at 45-50 on cruise and it's gone
    • Wasn't able to check the cruise as no hills on way home
Shift points seem a little different, but not that much, seems to hold the gear longer before the upshift at the lower speeds. Time will tell!

Thanks for this update. I was going to ask if it addressed the surging as I have it too and haven't seen it addressed in the fix.

I hope it shows up for me because the Toyota owners website hasn't updated yet. It may take a couple days ill check it later.

I have the same truck and they "performed" it on mine. Check the doc from OP and your VIN to see if the family production is on there. I blacked out my VIN but kept the same numbers/letters that matched the TSB. I also brought it to the service rep to show him that my truck was part of it. I live close to my dealership so I didnt get to test cruise control. The lag for me usually was from a cold start.

Also, they did not affix the sticker as mentioned or used chalk/white permanent marker like some of you guys. So I really will be feeling out the truck the next couple days

i had mine flashed today. i was there about 40 minutes. i obviously have little data on it so far. i do know the cruise control feels 100 percent better. ill have to wait on a cold start to see about the delay from park or reverse to drive per that is the only time mine would do this. i have dealt with this dealership for over 35 years and i had no problem getting it flashed.GOPR0255.jpg

Delay from R to D and P to D seem to be gone. Haven't driven it enough since getting it back to notice shifting differences. Toyota was more than willing to help solve the issue with no complaints on their end.

Greg Miller Toyota was more than willing to help solve the issue with no complaints on their end. If you are in San Diego or around here this is the place to go. They also turned of the seat belt alarm and changed turn flash to 5 times no questions asked

Just got my truck back from the TSB 0077-16 update
Delay from R to D and P to D is gone also it is shifting different. with better MPG feels like a new truck loving it

Thought you went to Mission Gorge? Did they not perform it for you there either? Opened a case but thanks for the tip on Greg Miller.

T-Rex grill with black bezel. Blacked out all the badges and added the Tacoma on the tail gate. The windows have been tinted to the darkest law will allow.
Just dropped mine at the dealership. (Charles Maund Toyota Austin tx) SA said no problem there were aware of the TSB and will be done in the am. Hopefully this will fix it. Will update tomorrow.

Just dropped mine at First Team Toyota in Chesapeake VA. They said they got tsb Friday. Not much traffic for it yet. Anxious to pick it up Thursday with flash, new installed tpms sensors and balance and replacement of squeaky front body bushing. Have couple of other minor issues but getting the 3 things done should feel, shift and sound (quiet) new again. Anxious to get back to posting good stuff.
