Does this truck exist?

Had a argument over a friend's tacoma the other day and want to figure it out. Here's the details:

My friend's friend has a 2002-4 (not sure) Tacoma that he claims is not a Prerunner. It is 4x2 automatic, extra cab, SR5, bench seat with no Prerunner badge on the back. However, it sits as high as my tacoma prerunner (1999) sits and looks identical chassis and suspension-wise. He's got aftermarket tires and wheels on it but they are no bigger than 31's. I told my friend that only prerunners and 4x4's sit that high. I looked in the wheel wells to see if there was aftermarket suspension put on; none. There are no TRD stickers on the bed-sides and no trd stuffs inside (diff locker, etc)

I searched autotrader online and craigslist and could find no other tacomas like this.

 

Gotta be a prerunner with no badge then...

 

there should be a sticker someplace inside the car that says what it is.....i feel like i might have seen one on my truck, even tho it's an 05. or i might just be making it up. but really, check all the stickers.

Go to a dealer with the VIN # and ask??

yea are there any other specific things to find out what it is (VIN# endings, door jam numbers?)

well if its a 4x2 SR5 it has to be a PreRunner....

Arent the 4x4 chassis a bit wider and longer?

 

check the lugs and you will know.

5 lug mini or 6 lug prerunner is the obvious... the rest of the stuff mentioned is just options...
