I think it's great. For a "budget" optic, the clarity and functionality is without rival. I got a pretty screaming deal on it, too; optic and mount for $472 from a local archery supplier. The optic alone still goes for $450 nowadays, and the A.D./Vortex mount was $200 at the time. But since their whole business was archery, they just hooked me up at cost +10%.

That Leupold isn't too bad either, from what little I've seen of it. I just opted for the Vortex as the jury was still out on the longevity of the Leupold at the time. If memory serves me right, they had some QC issues that people had been bitching about that kind of scared me off. Vortex has a no-questions-asked, lifetime warranty for any failures. I figured if I was going to get a potential lemon, I'd get the one that would be replaced.

Thanks, it's absolutely worth it on the AR platform as with 1 stamp you can have multiple short uppers.

This is the most recent configuration, I need to get a better red dot (Gonna get a holosun) but pretty happy with it.

That thing needs a fire pig (noveske KX3). Helps get the concussion away from your face. I dig it as is though.

Yep, $200 and a wait (According to my dealer the wait time is up to ~6 months, he said it would be next january before I had my suppressor).

I'd like to get one but I'm not sure if I would like it without a longer rail.
Currently the A2 barely casts a shadow with the light on (it's at the very edge of my peripheral vision)and I like little to no shadow from the light.

Thanks, I'm happy with it, runs flawlessly and it's the perfect length for a truck gun.

    Done, again, for now...

I think this is the 4th major configuration on this sbr. Probably pick up a Vortex Sparc II for it soon.

Ordered an 11.5" upper, comes with the A2 FSB and M4 hand guards, I want to swap it out to a Low-Pro gas block and Keymod rail system.
Looking for a rail approximately 10" in length.

I don't want to spend to much on the rail, does sub $125 sound reasonable.

Now that wonderful J. Brown has passed the last set of gun laws, how is it even possible to own an AR? Man, I swear I should've bought 6 or 7 years ago. CA just outlawed the bullet button workaround so I guess anyone wanting an AR now is screwed?

Also not to change the subject, but does anyone know if a CALI resident can purchased and own a Moss 930spx? If I cant do the AR route, that would be my next choice.

The guy who "invented" the bullet button already has a work around for the new CA law for AR's. Basically makes it so the mag wont drop free while the upper and lower are mated. You have to pull the rear takedown pin out and swing the upper up and then you can drop the mag free. Basically meeting the "must disassemble action to remove magazine" rule.

Thats my understanding of it though. Do a bit of googling and youll get a more solid answer. I gave up trying to understand CA gun laws so I could bring a gun or two when i traveled there for work. Now i just avoid the state all together.

No clue on the Moss 930spx though....best bet would be to call up a local gun store and ask them

Just cut down the pinned FSB. They are a great gas block. There's a member selling a bunch of rails in the buy/sell/trade section. Several members, myself included, have purchased from him and he's gtg. I'll post a link if I find his thread.

I might, never cut one down before.

Found it, I'm liking the troy 10" rail.

I've used the Troy Alpha and the Troy VTAC. Great rail if you want to use the mil-spec barrel nut. A little heavy, maybe, especially compared to all the ultralight options out there now.

Considering picking up rail D in a few weeks, gotta get an optic though so I have some type of sighting system.
