@eon_blue @MADSTEEZE not sure if this will work the same for you guys but I put the pole for a whip flag behind the latch. For various Pismo and Glamis trips it's held there perfectly.

 

What if we have no tailgate?

I think I have some bed rail mounts that'll work fine.. @MADSTEEZE where'd you get a whip?

 

I got the one in the link below from Amazon. It can be cut down to whatever size you want. A mount can easily be rigged up.

 

Is it thin metal or plastic? No nut on the bottom? I have a few of those bed rail mount things from someone on here...

 

It has a nut at the bottom. It can be removed if you need. It is plastic. I see no issues with it. I'm just gonna buy a piece of metal or angle at home depot and just screw it on somewhere.

Amazon or store? I think a friend of mine said he knows a store that sells them... Would suck to buy it just before the beach and find out you can't get it to stick to anything.

 

Looks like Bert's Mega Mall in Covina sells them. Guess I know where I'm going!

 

I wouldn't worry about how to mount it. I'll put a pic of mine up this weekend.

Edit: Also @Thesandaddict said he had a "billion" angles that can be used for the install. I think he is bringing some extra. He had a pic a couple pages back.
