Don't get mad because he is loved more than you were. :boink:

If you read a few posts back you'll see that the kid is on track to go to the Naval Academy. I think that is well worth a new truck like this.

LOL I don't blame you. Some families are in a better position than others. Unfortunately that's the cards that are dealt sometimes. If I were your son, I would be ecstatic to be getting that rig personally.

I think that's my plan as well. Maybe paint the chrome bezel and emblem instead. How has your plasti dip held up?
I kinda want something more permanent.

True, true, I am a dirty contractor now though...so I get my taxes back at the end of the year, so gotta wait... :-/ It's all good though I have too much fun with my job now and I am in OPs everyday compared to my active duty job so it's all good!

My father bought me a camry when I graduated HS. Loved every mile spent in her and then I traded it in for my Tacoma. Doesn't mean I was spoiled or whatever word you want to use. I worked my ass off to get where I am now the amount of commuting and traveling to get there was a hell of a lot easier in a reliable car than a banged up 90s clunker.

Nice, congrats to him. I paid my way through college and am still paying my loans off (and have already sent them my first three kids as slaves) and did ROTC where I commissioned (AF of course) but that's awesome for him! What's he want to do? (BTW's you can pay my loans off it you would like LOL). :D:bananadance::fingerscrossed:

My father signed for my first car when i graduated. A Toyota Corolla. I had to pay every penny but he signed because i graduated at 17 and didn't have any credit...

But i started working at 12 years old. Plant nurseries, Delivering papers, watermelon fields, washing dishes in a restaurant.... Buying my own clothes, shoes, toothpaste... Everything. Middle child of 5 kids and father burried cable.. We weren't rich by any means but i never went without and learned the value of a dollar real quick!!

Now i live on military disability and have 2 kids of my own... I won't be able to afford a new car for them when they graduate either... But I'll do everything i can to help them when the time comes.

If i could afford it I'd buy them a new car though... If it meant it would help them get to college or start a career I'd jump on it.

Spoiled is when a kid never has to work hard at anything and the kid still gets whatever they want. A parent starting their kid on the right path is a different story entirely.

    My opinion anyways...
