My parents wanted me focused on my studies. Granted I still worked and still put in the money when I could. But working part time as a busboy to pay for a car among other things isn't really feasible. I don't consider myself spoiled but rather very much fortunate that I was raised in a family that both could afford nice things for ourselves as well as teach me that you have to earn everything, not just have it all handed to you.

Also, thank you for your service. I wanted to join up in our Armed Forces but sadly being diabetic doesn't look to appealing on a physical.

Yeah, I'm a toyota tech. I get to do all the fun stuff like ECU reflashes and Airbag, frame, and piston replacements under warranty all day. Haha

When I priced Access Cabs I found that the TRD Sport was basically $1000 more than the similarly equipped SR5. If you are going to lift and throw mods at it then you might be ok with the SR5 without the appearance package. But with that package and the tow pkg you might as well spend it on a Sport. So far it appears the Sport hood is holding glue better than the flat hoods. But with wheels and seat covers and grille changes you can change a lot on an SR5. Really you can get an SR double cab V6 much cheaper and mod it out a ton for far less than a Sport price. Go with YOUR budget and not others opinions. It just depends on the options you want from the factory.

mine wasnt doing anything crazy either (at 386 miles on the ODO), but i have noticed a slightly smoother 1-2 shift.

i flashed a co-workers early-production truck as well, which was slipping out of gear in first and felt real sloppy into Drive/Reverse... it had a significant improvement after the flash. its worth getting done, plus it pays the tech 24 whole minutes of work!

i also went ahead and switched my turn signal auto-flash to 4 flashes instead of 3, and disabling the seatbelt chimes.
