So this was interesting. Dropped my truck off at Camelback Toyota today for the TSB. My service advisor Ed was very helpful and said he'd do what he can to get the TSB completed. He also asked me if I had my ATF level checked yet.. I responded no since all the other dealerships refused to open the "sealed system". So a few hours later TSB is completed and my truck was found to have been OVERFILLED by 1.5qts. Called corporate about a case I opened in February for the tranny but they weren't willing to extend my warranty since there was no damage reported by the dealer.

Haven't had a chance to test the P --> R --> D yet or use cruise control but the shift points from 1-4 feel a lot more natural. No searching for gears and it does feel slightly quicker off the line. Overall I'm happy with the truck, now if Toyota can release a TSB for the steering wheel/gas pedal vibes they will fully regain my respect. tsbreceipt.jpg

Your issues are pretty much identical to mine. Thank you for posting in detail.

I have an apt on Thursday with complaint issues noted on my service records. I was also 3/4qt low on tranny fluid when I had them check it. Stay tuned......

This is another issue I am having, I think it upshifts way to often especially when you need the power in a lower gear to get you up the hill. I manually shift mine......
Hopefully, that won't be necessary after the update.....

I think someone else already mentioned it but how much of this TSB fix is actually addressing the issue and how much of it is just resetting the ECU? Because a lot of folks reported improvements temporarily after ECU flash but once truck adaptive transmission goes down the road 1200 miles or so, will the improvements stick or will we be in the same boat?

They ran it up to operating temperature and then checked the fluid level? That is suspect.

Could you please elaborate on what "changed turn flash to 5 times" means? TIA

Its been 3 days since I got the "update". To be honest I can't tell much difference. I'd say it's a minimal change at best.

It remains frustrating in any sort of traffic and if you are going up even a small incline at 35-45 mph it will still shift numerous times. At any speed below 50 it still turns about 1k rpms and has very little ability to maintain speed without downshifting.

To be fair the TSB never said that it was addressing these concerns, but I had my fingers crossed that maybe it would help with these issues.

I've had it since October and at this point I think I just have to say "it is what it is".

It's good to hear others feel more positive after the update but I personally can't speak very highly of it. Maybe it is just a matter of opinion.

I went in to Hollywood toyota today for tranny oil check, tranny tsb, howling noise plugs, U bolts torque to specs, and U joint lub, everything done no questions ask. Good service.

I'm about to get disappointed, transmission was great for three days and I think today it's back where it was.
And here is my service request after dealer "performed TSB"(?). Numbers don't match.

Except for the R to D delay, I'm leaning that way too man. I wonder if most of the reprogramming is just resetting the long and short term fuel tables. Ugh..

Did they even apply the TSB? Work summary seems unclear.

Also, people should keep in mind that the TSB was only implied to improve 3 things. Most importantly the hanging 4th gear while in cruise and the delay when going from R to D or N to D. People should not expect more than this.

So for those saying the transmission is going back to feeling like it did do you now have a delay again from R to D or are you now getting the hanging in 4th gear again? Those are the primary determinants of whether there is a permanent change.

Anyone in the northern Baltimore area have this TSB done and/or have a positive experience with getting the transmission fluid checked? There are a few dealerships in my area but haven't heard any of them referenced good or bad. Thanks!

I agree, however they said they did the same procedure on a few other 16's and found them to be low so I'm trusting them for now. And the fact that I'm not having any transmission issues at the moment is somewhat reassuring.

We called thanks to a member here they said bring it in we had it done today. No argument no question maybe it was because My wife took donuts in I have not driven it yet but my wife said the lunge is gone and doesn't shift as often I will drive it tomorrow. I am no mechanic but as many trucks have been low on tranny fluid it doesn't make sense to not have it checked if you ever have a problem at least you have it on the record. If you never have a problem no loss. Yes our vine # was on-the list

My guy there on Monday was kinda dickish. Glad you had better luck. How long did they keep your truck for a 30 minute task?

you are exactly right swimmer. you will not get the 2005 v6 4.0 245hp and you will not get no more torque. just the 3 things it was made for.
