Where the rock sliders welded on? I know it depends on what is done, but what is the range to have rock sliders fabricated?

Any chance anyone has a spare or unused front bumper valence? Mine blew off going through a river. Thanks

Walked out the house this morning, to get into my truck to go to work.. And here's the awesome surprise I found!

Only car among about 4 others near it that got hit. Obviously liked the taco.. Stole my Schumaker portable jump starter/battery pack, portable air compressor and a nice REI hiking pack with leatherman, tools and such inside. Good morning it was! :censored: :censored:

Ya, oh well. Sh*t happens.. Could have been worse, a key job to the side wouldn't have been good either! Ugh.. I'm in SLC, sugarhouse area. Just moved here a year ago and already been hit twice. Lived for 9 years on the west side in Poplar Grove, never one problem! So it goes.. Zen outlook is the key I suppose. Gotta be more careful and remove my gear when not on trips.. Better look at locking up the hi-lift and arb awning on my roof if possible as well. Anyone else have issues with their exterior expedition/recovery gear getting jacked? Ideas for safer storage?

We used to live in Sugarhouse before
moving up to the PC area. thabkfully our truck and car were never hit, but a story that has a happy Tacoma ending is my boss (who lives in Sugarhouse) bought a brand new Subaru Forester. With u Der 1,000 miles on it he left it run I go out side his house to go grab a jacket. In under a minute when he came back out new forester was gone. Found 2 weeks later totaled in a police chase on the west side. The GOOD ending to this was I convinced him to replace it with a Tacoma rather then another Subaru!

All in all, as Sugarhouse develops and more people with nice things are moving in there, it's become somewhat of a target for theft and petty crime. Be proactive and lock your gear up and don't leave anything too valuable in your truck. Sorry for your losses @UTdez23

Hey guys, I'm roadtripping back to Seattle through Utah at the beginning of August and wanted to hit some of the parks again. Any recommendations on dos and donts for camping with no reservations? I know out here its a pain in the ass to camp in a park in the summertime, but most of our parks are in national forests or wilderness areas where anything goes. Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Ya, is what it is.. I'm on Loveland Ave (2500 S.) and Lake St. A garage would be nice! It's in our future plans.

Welcome! Ya we moved here from west of downtown, Poplar Grove, about a year ago. Never had my car touched in 9 years there. Second car break in here and also had some other theft issues, packages stolen off our porch.. Hope to see you all around the neighborhood!

That's unfortunate, sorry to hear.. But glad he got a Tacoma!! Yep, been pushing my luck with keeping all my gear in my truck always in between expeditions.. Now I have learned. Much appreciated! Cheers

@Nimitz Generally in early August it's still very hot so park attendance in So. UT is less than the spring and fall. So you might have better luck getting reservations for campgrounds, all depends. I'd recommend doing some BLM dispersed camping instead. Better spots, don't have to deal with crowds and way more options. Gooseberry Mesa outside Zion, Notom Road area outside Capitol Reef, Horsetheif BLM campground outside Island In the Sky, Harts Point/Indian Creek areas outside Needles. Good luck and sounds like fun!!

I'm looking for trails near Draper to get some dirt under my tires without having to take a half day (aka 5 Mile Pass).

The Draper Alpine Trail that starts at Orson Smith Park is ok, I see Corollas at the end but there's some places to play around on it with the Taco.

Anyone know of other spots nearby?

You can go to the flight park by cabelas.. Just don't get caught wheeling too hard... It's not a ohv park but there are a few fun little spots. Alittle further is af canyon, forest lake is a pretty fun trail with a cool river crossing entrance. U can cruise out to Bacchus or herriman but it's quite the drive still none the less. Little Moab is fun but it's about the same distance to five mile
