Just goes to show, my wife drove Camry for 13 years, no major issues. Like I've been saying, no perfect auto maker.

I've towed a few times about 2500 to 3000lbs up from about 1200 feet field elevation upwards of 8000 feet over a hundred mile distance from Phoenix to Flagstaff several times. It's normal that the truck will scream in 4 to 5k RPMs

Gotcha. My family was always GM. I thought I'd be Chevy guy always, then went ford and said he'll no. Always wanted taco and overall I'm damn happy, get back after my list tomorrow

Yea, very true. People get very emotional over their claim and allegiance to brand, while the makers laugh and pocket millions.

What's reliability worth if the truck you bought doesn't meet your expectations? Or even meet self-rated expectations (by the manufacturer)?

If after 3 years this truck proves to be an underperforming dog for what I need, it gets kicked out of the stable. Time to move along...

Hey, there you go man, don't blame you. I'm not married to Toyota or any other maker. I got no problem kicking out taco if he screws me, I just have feeling I'll be ok and would put a small wager down.

Nope. Out of town for a week on business. Plan to schedule it when I get back.

So they say. If I'm pegging redline all the time while hauling, I have some doubts. Like I said- I've got some time to wait and flog it. My wife and I were pretty shocked how hard it was for the truck to maintain 70mph (on a 80mph road) with a moderate load in the bed.

Yeah my question is how will the longevity of this transmission and motor hold up under that load

They want me to take an 8 year /125k platinum warranty. I want the truck to perform not to drive like crap more than i want a warranty

I don't have to push my foot into the floor to get it going, you must have the 4cyl, or you might want to check into the lemon law ;)

I doubt that, I got mine for 31.5K before taxes. I bet it would be next to impossible to get the Duramax under 40K. I guess anything is possible, but I thought the Duramax version was supposed to be the top trim and even higher than the Limitied Tacoma.

I can get 4 to 5k off of sticker now add in taxes if I don't trade, and I'd probably add an extended warranty for the GM diesel

I wouldn't say a world of difference, but it definitely helped.
