    I'm 28 and Pokemon was life for me from age like 8-12. I had huge books full of cards (which were all stolen from me at the Boys & Girls Club..someone cut open my bookbag with a box cutter b/c I had padlocked that bitch shut) and had all of the video games that were out. I think the game is mostly nostalgia based. All the 'adults' who bash on it are usually 30+ and just don't get it. @voz is a rare bird

    just saw this in an article...fitting after the discussion this morning.

    Pokémon Go players don’t need to grow up, you do!
    It’s no wonder that the curmudgeonly are sick of it all. The saturation point has already been reached and exceeded for many, and it’s hard to argue against those who simply don’t want to hear about Pokémon Go ever again. The hardcore haters are spreading memes, telling players to grow up, and questioning why we don’t go to a bar/meet members of the opposite sex/get a life instead of playing a stupid, pointless game. The most recent meme shared with me noted that adult males playing the game should “Hand in their man card.” (I assume a “man card” is a Pokémon card I have yet to hear of, but I’ll never know for sure.)

    I wonder how many people complaining about Pokémon Go have actually played Pokémon Go. Judging by the response, and lack of knowledge on how the game actually works, it’s certainly not many. Therefore, I’m at a loss to understand the negativity. Is it ironic? The now standard “hate things that are popular” internet response? Or is it a knee-jerk reaction to something they don’t understand, and are therefore fearful of?

    It is disturbing. How utterly joyless must you be not to marvel at an app that — without violence, nudity, or misogyny — is getting people up, outside, and having fun?

    The highest I have seen is 500 that has attacked me at a level 12. I need to evolve and power up some of mine closer to 1000. I think the higher CP pokemon you have the higher the CP of the ones who you encounter will be, not just what level you are :notsure:

    I'm at 30+k too - I have used 1 incense and it worked OK. I was sitting between a couple lure stops at the time so I don't know how much it helped...

    I was waiting until the game got more stable to use an egg and do a mass evolve and at the same time walk around and catch some more to gain more XP
