Had mine done this morning. Got the sticker to prove it. No resistance from the dealer, which was refreshing. Seems to hold each gear a smidge longer and it's not as eager to downshift. I had no complaints with the previous shift pattern but I did have the R to D delay once a week. Hopefully that will be the end of that.

He's a secret GM guy, lol. Just playing smitty. You need to remember he's going through a lot of shit and honestly I know for a damn fact if I were in his position I'd have a hard time being positive too! Do you know his issues with his truck?

I phoned into Toyota Canada yesterday and filed a case study with them. Quoted the TSB and explained all the same symptoms. IDK, if enough of us call maybe they will release it here, but it still doesn't make sense to me that they would release it in the states and then ignore the fact that we have the same issue here.

Probably have to run it through different gov channels if it relates to EPA emissions for example. Volkswagon lessons learned huh ?

Just got mine done yesterday. Feels a little bit better but still sluggish in some areas in my opinion. But definitely better than it was.

Maybe, I was thinking that too. But talking to the person on the phone I got the impression he thought I was a 3 headed dragon with a need to bitch about nothing. Anyway, I sit patiently with hope that they will release it at some point.

I'm at dealer now. Told them I want the damn sticker too. Unreal, they are blaming my desire on me wanting them to grease the u-joints on 4 wheel parts, who they paid for lift brand new. I'll update, trying to get ride back to my house and I'll pick up tomorrow because I'm also getting ATM checked as well, they have to let it cool. Of course

If you haven't had yours done don't call it a placebo effect. Mine was done yesterday. The reverse to drive delay was gone, it appears to hold gears a little better, it performs better in cruise control not hanging in gear, and gas mileage seems to be holding around the same. Maybe if mine goes back to the way it was then I might agree with you but for right now if yours hasn't been done then don't put it down until yours has been done and it didn't work.

Listening to him he has had every problem that everybody else has and more. If I was in his shoes my truck would have been traded off by now and i wouldn't need to come back to this forum. He wants to tell everyone the TSB is probably a placebo effect and He hasn't had the work performed. If I am having a placebo effect maybe he is over playing is problems. I haven't seen his truck in a shop.

I take this back, this morning on the way to work transmission shifted perfectly fine. Maybe it was some kind of glitch.

But numbers still don't match :)
    My copy showes: 89664-04K51.
    Splitbolt sticker: 08661-04K52.

    What numbers do you have?

Truck has been in the shop since Saturday for the third RO on leaf springs and for the TSB. The regional engineer is coming out to look at the truck this week. Truck was in shop previous week for 3 days for rear diff replacement. Do you want to see the work orders I have shared them multiple times on these forums

Squeaky leaf springs which I had in 1995 which were eventually fixed and a TSB aren't going to have me call in a regional manager and ruin my week. Really ?

Yeah and I haven't even told them yet that the rear end is faintly making a howling noise again.

Did you ever have the ECU flashed/erased prior to the TSB? I did and the performance was better for the first 1200 miles or so then it reverted. That's all I'm saying is we don't know enough right now if the TSB will actually be a permanent fix for the performance issues shifting. The reverse to drive delay wasn't really a priority problem for me anyway

    The permanent comment is BS.
Yes it is better than before, even if just slightly. Going uphill at work everyday it would upshift to 4th immediately and then back down to 3rd. Now it gets to 3rd and waits until i top the hill. R to D delay is gone. And cruise control is an improvement.

My most noticeable drive improvement is stop and go. In the scenario of rolling thru a stop sign for lack of a better description. Before i would do a quick brake to 2-3 mph then go. It would always be in a very aggressive gear, say first. It was hard to drive smooth. Now it appears to be in right gear for the speed.

I have been very careful not to let a placebo effect take over..and have had a lot of practice at that trying to figure out the 2k rpm vibrations.

    @smitty99
I understand your pessimism but in the end, no matter how small, this tsb is an improvement and for all we know it could have small engineering updates for issues we wouldnt notice in the first place. So i say don't run out and get it if you don't want to but i saw an improvement. It may be prudent to ask about it during next oil change.

Yes, me either but, you seem to expect the TSB to be delivering more than it was stated to address.

Man I'm sorry for your purchase, I can't imagine how annoying that can be. I wonder if your truck is just one of those bad ones. Because I really don't have any problems with mine, except transmission shifting to much. Which hopefully fixed now.
I hope your issues will be resolved soon so you can enjoy it. Unless you are undercover GM dude;)
