Anyone know what the wait is usually like to have a Cabrac shipped?

Are these the right mounting feet for the Toprac? These were the only ones included in the packaging. When I used them, the crossbar could not sit flat on the camper shell.

I'm going to try assembling everything on the ground first, leave the mounting feet loose, and then try attaching it to the rails. I was going back in this thread and saw this post.

for those of you guys with a RTT on your cabrac, do you have to remove the wind fairing to reach the front bolts when bolting/unbolting the RTT to the rack? I dont plan on keeping the RTT up there full time. My RTT is currently being shipped so I'm just thinking ahead.

we got it on and off without removing the fairing. its a bit of a squeeze, but all you really need to do is remove one nut and just rotate the RTT mount bar.. both putting it on the rack, and removing.

not a problem. might be easier to remove the fairing, but I didnt want to mess with is since my lightbar and everything is tightly packed in that area.

Yeah I put mine on my cabrac with the wind fairing still attached its a tight squeeze, and i would suggest using a ratcheting wrench. I somehow lost mine, and it took a lot longer to use a regular wrench. For me when im ready to take the RTT off i just leave it attached to the cross bars and just unbolt the cross bars. makes to easy on and off, minus the part where you have to lift the tent over your head and place it on the rack without scratching it.

I was looking at one a while back and they didn't have a system for mounting one to a roof rack. I offered to work with them on a mount but things fell apart shortly after.

Let me see if I can find the email conversations..

    EDIT (email reply) @Cohbsteq

    Hi [geekhouse23],

We are coming out with a trailer hitch mount! Our tanks are 5.5 inches in
width, and 7" in height. Many customers who do overland adventures have
bought the tank only attachment and attached the tank using various
straps. I use the UV protected rubber straps to secure it to my roof top
basket. Checkout fargo4x4 on istagram, he is an overlander who attached it
using camouflage tiedowns! We will be coming out with new tanks in the
future, but with the response I have got in the past, they will become
large any more bulkier then they are now)People want more water for longer
    adventures). The dimensions of out 3.3 gallon tank are: 30" x 5" x 7".

Checked out Fargo4x4 on IG and he actually had it ratchet-strapped to his roof rack...I don't like that option..

Ehhh... That's lame!! I was just thinking of welding some sort of L bracket with tabs, but it doesn't look like there's room for bolts anywhere. Those rubber straps should hold it fine.. But I'm looking to run this thing all summer.. And I'd like it to be secure and somewhat safe from thiefs. I think I just need to buy one and go from there..

Yeah, the hitch mount is less then ideal.. I'm thinking of mounting it on the very back of the rack right above the shell hatch.

I just reached out to them again explaining my concern about this "new" mount idea..maybe the second time is the charm..

Haha I think it's more or less a bunch of surfer dudes running it.. Because nothing they offer is really off-road friendly. Mostly just beach stuff or dirt roads

That would be a bad idea, the only reason I'm thinking roof is for direct sunlight, I'm even thinking of wrapping it in black vinyl for more heat, I like warm showers!!!! :angrygirl:

I told the rep about TW and told him that a lot of us would be interested in a roof rack mount that can be secure from stick fingers. Told him to let me know when he wants some pics/ideas etc.

MIGHT try to pick one up and work on a better mounting system than ratchet straps...
