There are YouTube videos on LBJs but it's easy, just get the correct torque. Possibly new bolts for them as well

When you reinstall you LBJs, use loctite on the 4 bolts. Some say red but IMO, blue loctite is plenty.

Do you buy new bolts as well? That's what some of the first gen guys have said, it wouldn't hurt IMO especially since they're pretty cheap

Yes. On a 1st gen, a failure is catastrophic, not worth risking for the price of 4 new bolts.

Same here luckily my window was cracked and I was able to pull it down a few inches and reach in.n what a sinking feeling when you hear that beep of the doors locking lol. It self repaired when I rolled it up and down a few times. Now I always leave it open a few inches when I leave my mutt in the truck haha...

Immediately after installing brand new LBJ's with new grade 10 bolts torqued to spec with blue loctite, I did a 4 day 500+ mile trip and had no issues thankfully.

I've got the part number for them if any first gen needs them. I PM'd the guy from Camelback so it should be correct

Yes please. Any part numbers and bolt specs would be helpful! It will cut down on a little research time.

I'm on my 3rd pop & lock latch in 2.75 years and 65k miles. Last I checked, there's not another option if you want your tailgate to be lockable.

Depends on your skill set. Not much around for manufacturing, but some. State Capital is about 1/2 an hour away, so Gov. jobs come up fairly regularly. Portland's about 45 minutes and there's a bunch of businesses down there. Bath Iron Works is about an hour away. Lewiston/Auburn's roughly 15 minutes away and there's a decent assortment of work there, too. Bunch of stores, restaurants, 2 hospitals, etc.

Your setups are always so functional!

What covers do you use for the OPD valves?

Thanks. Usually the attached stock plastic ones on the bottle. You can buy replacement ones if they get lost or damaged or just improvise... Virtually anything will do, like a cut down plastic water bottle, or one of my daughter's socks that no longer fit. :anonymous: lol

    Lol. Nice. Thanks!

Forgot to ask in your thread - how much did your Dewalt drawer system set you back?

I think that was @Leppz that got the dewalt.

I don't remember the brand that I have, it's in this thread I think I posted last summer 2015 search back you might find it.

I think it ran me $120 in change for the one I have

Mine are Dewalt TSTAK's. I bought 4 different units. Each cost +/- $35 CAN for a total of around $150 CAN. I checked out the unit @Crom has (I cannot remember the brand name either) and it was on sale at a local tool store for around $100 CAN. I opted for the TSTAK's because of how customizable they are.

    Here's the 4 units I bought.

    Flat Top - DWST17807

    Double Shallow Drawer - DWST17804

    Single Deep Drawer - DWST17803

    Deep Box - DWST17806

Here are some pictures of everything loaded and nicely organized.

I'm very happy with this purchase. Everything stays extremely organized and easy to reach. The boxes are very durable and should last for many years to come.
