What cold air intake?!

the infamous question? of what cold air should i put in my 2006 auto 4 door 6 ft bed? i want one that will give me more power and acceleration......

I'm leaning towards the K n N plastic tube series? not sure what the product or model number is......

but would anyone object? Fill me with your info! (no homo)

umm... i dont think stating "auto 4 door 6 ft bed" makes a difference on the different types of intakes. w/ a little effort in searching you'll find what people recommend.

 

ppl that aren't simple know that that model has the 4.o v-6

 

How about you take his advice and search. If you are going to be an ass about it then look elsewhere. But if you can be mature and not act like a child then we will be more than happy to help.

 

You won't get much gain from a CAI...it'll sound cool though! If I were gonna get one i'd go with the URD Tru CAI

 

I have the TRD CAI and love it. The only thing I want to change about it, is the filter. I've heard nothing but good things about the AFE Pro Dry S; even the drop in filter

 

I think you should keep your stock one.

 

Getting a CAI is kinda pointless I heard because of your throttle body...No matter how much air your capable of taking in it still has to pass through the passage of the throttle body. Its like pouring from a small bowl into a straw then going to a bigger bowl...it doesn't matter cause the straw can only allow in so much at a time

 

^ true. But it does sound cool! And I have noticed since I put my stock one back on, that my throttle responce is not so good anymore.. Although I still have the stock filter so that may be the cause, so im either getting a AFE drop in or a Amsoil dry filter with my AFE intake.. But like said above dont expect much from an intake.

 

If you do a lot of offroading stick with one that is a closed box filter system like the AFE one. I'm always cleaning my K&N, came with the truck.

 

I lived in southern idaho where the wind was always blowing and very dusty conditions all the time. I only cleaned mine K&N filter twice in a year...

 

My conditions were a bit extreme. I'm usually following 3 trucks in the desert throwing clouds of dust. When compared to my buddy's stock filter, mine gets dirtier.

 

well i noticed a huge difference in my truck after installing the afe stage 2 si cai, not only does it sound better but it has more power. was most deffinately noticeable in the seat of ur pants dyno. but its the same as the trd piece only the afe makes more power!!!!!!!!! it is by far the best money i have spent on this truck!

 

I put a Pro Dry on my TRD CAI & I really like it, no more cleaner or messy oil well worth the money.

 

I really like the K&N I put on mine. It was a fairly easy install and is easy to clean.

 

how often did you have to clean it and what does that of consist of?

 

To clean mine i just had to go to Autozone and buy the recharging kit. It comes with instructions but you just have to wash, clean, and rinse, then re-oil. Doesn't take very long and doesn't have to be cleaned very often unless you love the dirt.
