I wouldn't mind getting a road shower at some point.. Have it run down the length of the Prinsu.

Also, for those of you that mounted a Plano case or the like, what were your methods of mounting? I have an idea, but curious.

Thinking of findind a few bolts, run the head through the Prinsu cross bars, then through the case, wingnut on the inside. Then obviously washers, including rubber ones to dampen vibes and noise.

That's what I did. A lot of people use u-bolts though and go around the rail. I might switch to that because the u-bolts are bigger so it'll be stronger. I can take pics of my setup tonight. It works. If you was a quick release use (EO) 2 mounts. They are a little more expensive but very nice and easy to take your cases on and off without having to take all your gear out. undo the screws, so on ect.

Awesome! What were the bolts you used? I was thinking maybe 6 of them should be good.

Whats this mount you're speaking of? Interested.. Maybe I can make something at work too. Hmmm...

2" ubolts from Lowes worked beautifully

Plus if you are mounting three items up there...300$ in mounting hardware on top of the 500$ prinsu rack, and then roughly 350$ in the mounted items...

Lol right? I mean I understand that someone could just steal two of my cross bars and I'm SOL but they could reasonably do that with my bed rack and id be out even more money.

I used a Hobie mirage pro angler 12 for 2 weeks of kayak fishing in the Florida Keys. Are you planning on taking your daughter on the kayak?

4 total per case. Two up front and then two on the last rail

Lined up where I wanted. Made the four holes (2 holes per ubolt) then slider them in, tightened the nut onto them and then cut the excess of the ubolt so I didn't have a massive thing sticking out.

Id look more at the 14 then. Both are really stable in the water but I'm thinking the extra room would be useful for having your daughter on there. The only thing that would be difficult with a kid on the kayak would be when your pedaling. The front storage area is pretty deep so your kid could sit in it while you pedal :notsure:. The only big downsize to the pro anglers is they are heavy sonsabishes, if you dont have anyone helping you load/unload look into building a wheel cart.

Just some small M5 screws I think? I grabbed them from work. Just make sure the head is small enough to slide in the frame. Had a lot of problems with that. But I might switch to the u-bolt idea. Either work!

Oh the pedaling alone makes it worth while. Everytime I use my sit-in kayak I contemplate getting a pro angler just to save my shoulders. I actually had an easier time of maneuvering the pro angler than I do my 10ft sit-in. The use of a rudder, pedals, and an anchor make the pro angler not feel like its huge. The weight also adds up quickly if you park somewhat far from the launch area. Beer and fishing gear get pretty heavy lol

Yea that's what I had in mind, you could even take the top off the lid compartment in the front and she could sit in it. I think it was maybe 6-8" deep.

Either way sounds like a great idea to kayak and still spend time with your kid
