I checked my VIN and it does not match any of the ones in the TSB report some of you guys received. I also called my dealer, Longo Toyota, and they said that my VIN had no recalls or TSB's.. should I keep trying or will this flash do nothing for me?

Feeling frustrated with the service department at my dealer...
Went for the update this AM, after some arm twisting the advisor agrees to do the update.
Nearly 2 hours later he shows up to the lobby saids done.
Drove to work with no difference felt, after all a short drive, but we'll see.
Then I proceed to check the engine bay for the sticker, WTF nothing; no sticker, no crayon marks, not a fking thing.
Though the paper work indicates they did it, I will never know.
I think they just did the free-n-lousy car wash and sent me on my way.

So larger tires have exacerbated the transmission issues? That would confirm my concerns they would do so. Man oh man... I wonder how many people are driving with larger tires and a forced smile on their face because their truck drives like crap? WTF Toyota.

Does the reflash of F/W clear the short and long-term fuel tables (part of adaptive learning)? Not sure that's part of the reflash. I asked and the SA had no clue.

I asked because I was going to do it myself after the reflash. After reading some posts it looks like the assumption is that the reflash DOES clear the tables. Does anyone have evidence of this?

I meant to say the truck was already having a hard time gear hunting and downshiting all the time before I started the mods. As you can assume.. After all the mods have been put on, it has made it worse. I was hoping this TSB would alleviate a little bit, but alas, i dont get it for my truck. lol

I'm going to head in sometime this week to get the TSB, my trucks VIN is listed.

Primarily wanted to comment about the MPG fluctuation issue that others have been seeing. With E rated KO2's and a few disconnects of the batteries, I had the truck averaging around 20.5-21mpg through the whole tank. This was driving extremely lightfooted, and 95% highway conditions where the speed limit is 60mph in the PNW.

Then I put on Load C duratracs and had my 10k service done. I had assumed with a 8lb lighter tire on each foot, I might see something in the MPG category. Well, I was right.

I'm now averaging 17 mpg doing all the same drives. On top of that, the howling this truck makes from under my truck in the LCA's, an apparent howl in the diff, my weather strip howl in a cross wind, and I have a Prinsu rack on my Leer shell which makes some noise, is all starting to get to me.

I seriously hate the idea that I'm getting 10-20% fluctuations in my MPG with no apparent reason. I wish I had the Fuely numbers to back it, I am not going off just what the truck says I reset my odometer and fill up at the same pump for every tank. I do not think the transmission update will fix any of my symptoms besides the occasional hard shifting going up hill.

If I had known that my truck would be this noisy and get 17mpg highway, I would have pulled the trigger on a FJ60 Land Cruiser. I'm at 13.5k miles now, and only in the last 3.5k miles have the cons begun to outweigh the pros. My service department is very helpful, but I'm commonly left with the answer "the truck is just too new, we don't know how to diagnose what you're experiencing". Toyota needs to learn how their product works before they mass produce it.

I'd be ok with 18MPG to 19MPG if the truck performed like the 4.0. In other words a .5 to 1mpg avg increase overall is not nearly worth the reduction in performance I experience in this truck.
