OH, it's 1st gen...

 

Would it be bad to run the winch neg and ground to the frame? I want to do dual batteries in the bed but I do not want to run 2 wires from the wing all the way back AND a cable for a blue sea fuse block under the hood.

 

LEt me know when old man. Can do them this weekend if you would like.

 

I'm no expert, but looks like they typically ground it all to frame. Looks like you need to run 2 pos for each battery up

Edit: unless a blue sea has some really cool smarts to send one wire up and manage the 2 in the bed

IMO I would run the negative cable directly to the battery, it can work if you ground it to something else but in that case you need to make damn sure those ground connections are very tight and on bare metal using large gauge cable. If it were me I would still use the battery since it pulls so much amperage though that circuit.
But you can also use a good ground if large gauge wire with secure connections if its a long run from one point to the next.

My battery ground is 0 gauge and I wended a bolt to the frame and bolted it for ground. I would still have to run the pos for the fuse block to the bed for the aux battery though huh?

 

If you wanted to be able to run high amperage through it yes, if you are just using for lower power aux things then no. But that ground should suffice if there is a negative pickup point like that near the winch.
If you already have one battery hardwired straight to the winch you should be fine, unless I am misunderstanding...

 

Here's my battery. I put it here when I didn't have ac. Now that I live in San Marcos in need ac! I put the battery right where the ac lines go so I bent them down slightly. My ac charge only lasted a month. Lol I want to eventually move the battery back to the bed and figured might as well do duals and do it correct and finally mount a fuse block.
But then again I do want a second gen lol

 

So your plan is to run duals in the bed only? You would have to run power from each to an isolator if you wanted to run them as main/aux type setup that way you always have one that wont discharge while running your accessories.
And with long cables its always a good idea to run a fuseblock after a long stretch of wire in case a wire chafes through the insulation and turns into a glowing orange hot wire, lol.
I am probably not telling you something you dont already know and feel like I am not even answering your question, lol.
