Whats going on right now is a pure injustice to the Freedoms of each and every person in this Country and the Constitution....

Even know we here in Va are facing some very uncertain laws and legislation waiting in the wings.....

 

Long guns you can technically buy in any state. However you have to comply with both YOUR state laws and the state laws where you are purchasing. So you cant go to another state and buy a gun not allowed in your state. Same you cant go to a state where something isnt legal to there but is legal in your state.


Q: From whom may an unlicensed person acquire a firearm under the GCA?
A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee’s premises in any State, provided the sale complies with State laws applicable in the State of sale and the State where the purchaser resides. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes.

Now when it comes to handguns, I believe it was a Texas group vs D.C. and they won basically stating handguns had to follow the same rules as long guns. BUT I havent heard anything about it so Im sure its still the courts. I know the first level (i think) courts said handguns should follow the same rules as long guns.

 

it will get thrown out in court when challenged..the new laws in California wont have a chance when challenged unfortunately.

 

I hope you're right for future standing but the push is on for States to push gun legislation since it won't happen in Congress right now.

I understand WHY this rule exists (I don't post here much) but guns and politics (legislation more so) go hand in hand.

Will a guy from a ban state that says "I wish I could own that" get a warning as well?

 

Dont think the Mods have ever had a issue with that nor when someone asks questions regarding current laws. Think they are more going towards talking about possible legislation, court challenges, or "campaigning" for candidates.

And honestly Im ok with the rule. its nice having least one forum that isnt littered with politics
