2015 Grill Insert

Can anyone please tell me if the black portion (Inner Grill) on a 2015 Tacoma can be replaced? I changed out the chrome grill when my truck was new for a color matched. This morning I came out of the Post Office and noticed someone had either run something all the way across just the black inner portion of the grill or deliberately keyed it which is what it really looks like. It made me sick to see. I just washed and waxed her up nice on Sunday. Never touched the white outer part which leads me to believe even more that it was deliberate. People sure suck sometimes!

 

It is replaceable and there have been several for sale here recently. Check 2nd gen parts for sale.

 

Im sorry, Im really not stupid but I just looked at mine and cant see bolts or clips. This is the very inner portion of the grill. with the Tacoma emblem on it. The outside edge was chrome and is now white color matched. I went to a Tacoma parts web site and only found the grill in its entirety. Help please?

 

I've never personally had one apart but it looks like there is just a series of tabs that hold the insert to the surround. You can see the "holes" on the perimeter of the grill in this pic.

Yes it is replaceable. Although, you can't purchase just the grille-insert from a dealer, they are only sold as entire grille assembly's (grille surround + grille insert + toyota emblem).

I just installed a new color-matched grille assembly (yesterday) and have a spare one lying around if you're interested in buying it. It's in near-perfect condition, with 22000 miles on it. Taken off my 2015. PM if you're interested!

 

You can buy just the insert.

Most people are buying the "pro" grill now as a direct replacement and selling their stock ones.

Members sell the inner grill here all the time when they upgrade to a different style. Keep an eye on the BST section. The dealership will only sell you a complete grill (inner and outer together).

 

Just FYI, the one that Muffdiver posted is the TRD Pro Grille insert, I have the stock grille insert.

The TRD Pro insert is available on its own, but the stock one is not...I believe. Sorry guys, should have clarified.

A charlotte nc dealer has some inserts only for sale for 60 bucks shipped I believe.

 

I am looking for the black surround. Anyone not using theirs?
