I recently noticed an engine loss of power when accellerating from a stop on sharp right turns. When I let off the gas completely and push down again the truck accelerates as normal Any ideas or experience with this?

Dang, I feel lucky every time I read some of the weird shit that goes on with some vehicles.

You sure something isn't rubbing underneath and slowing you down when turning right?

Check the brake light switch. If the ECU senses the brake is applied when the throttle is also applied it will cut the throttle.

So, replaced brake switch and power steering pressure sensor and still no dice. Took it to my repair shop and they spent 2 days researching the issue and couldn't figure it out. Taking to the dealer tomorrow, so damn frustrated and a diagnostic is $92+tax, a note.. good thing is my guy says he will fix it soon as dealer tells me the issue. Will report back with findings.

Sounds more like a fuel related issue.

Any resolution on this? I'm having the exact same issue sans during right turns. Its an intermittent prob that has happened at 15mph and 65mph. Been through two mechanics, no one can find the problem.

Years ago I had a friend that had similar problems. With 1/4 tank or less, right turn and going uphill. Finally he pulled the tank. Found a baggie in the tank.

Was there white powder in the baggie?

Actually this was probably in the late sixties early seventies. The owner thought since he parked some times in a bad neighborhood that perhaps the Police stopped some kids and one of them stuffed a small bag of weed down the tank - rather than get arrested with it ... as the story went ....

At Low tank and slosh back to the right the baggie would get sucked onto the pick up tube. Once the engine died and the vehicle stopped - the baggie floated away - only to repeat at a later date. Drove the Owner and Mechanic nuts for about a year ....
