Newburgh here, there is a meeting for a hudson valley 4 wheel drive club on Nov 16 in fishkill at hudson Ribs and Fish at 7:30 pm. The website is hv4w.org. I am tryting to make it so that way I can be a part of a 4wd club and still do community based things like food drives and so on.

From Long Island as well (Massapequa). Just picked up my Tacoma on the 26th and I'm already looking into modding ASAP because this site.

And we should definatley try to do a LI/NY meet, give people a chance to look at what the locals are doing.

    http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/8243.html

The link above has some info on the trails. We drove all over that place. Got lost a few time so bring a gps if you can. We went on some logging trails and got stuck for a while. Not sure if we were supposed to be on logging trails but a forest ranger came up to us later on and just wanted to shoot the shit. Never asked any questions about us on the non marked trails. But just to be safe i would stick the the gravel pit area and marked trails for trucks. Unless no one is looking ;) And its state land so hunting and fishing is a perk. Great camping sites also. When i get back later i can post a few pics of the trails and mud pits.
