I know that this is mostly rediculous, but I am starting to get cold feet about going from my stock TRD OR 16" wheels and 265/70/16 tires to the TRD Pro 17" Wheels and 265/70/17 tires. I love the way that the TRD Pro wheels and KO2s looks, but since I am getting ready to make this change, I am starting to get worries in the back of my head about potential warranty issues, the speedometer/odometer not being correct, potential issues with the power train down the road, etc. This is my first new vehicle, so this kind of stuff is kinda freaking me out man . So thoughts? I'm making a big deal out of nothing right?

There won't be any warranty issues. The speedometer in the 2nd and 1st generations were actually corrected with an inch larger tire diameter. May be the same with 3rd gen. And there's no real reason to cause power train problems from an inch larger tire. You're good man.

One was a 16" wheel and one was a 17" wheel in OP. you are basically going up 1 size if you go from 265/70/16 to 265/70/17. I went up from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16 lost a little mpg's, but heavier tire, so its OK. Also, will bring speedo back in line if it currently shows 2 mph slow at 65 +/-

I knew I was mostly being paranoid for no reason :goingcrazy: I know the tires are just barely bigger and that it shouldn't be an issue, but I am by no mean an expert in anything car/truck related.

Some positive reinforcement always helps! Thanks for the input!

Funny thing is I already have the wheels and tires....of course that is when I am like "OH GOD, MAYBE I MISSED SOMETHING! MY TRUCK IS GOING TO BRICK AS SOON AS I MAKE THE SWAP!" I can be pretty great at doing mental gymnastics to psych myself out sometimes

I went from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 "C" rated KO2's and now my speedometer seems to be dead on according to my GPS. The warranty thing is still in the back of my head but I haven't seem one person mention it has been a problem even with all the complaints posted here. I still have my OEM wheels and tires mounted and balanced with the sensors intact because I'm no willing to give them away for what people around me want to pay. If push comes to shove I'll just throw them back on. Also, you don't take a hit on trade in having the stock wheels.

Sorry if I didn't help but you spent the money so just do it. I'm still impressed how well these tires ride and look.

I'd do it in a heartbeat as you can get a KO2 in the 265/70/R17 in a C rated 6-ply and its lighter than the 265/75/R16 version by a few pounds.

Win / Win as far as I'm concerned.

Well, any vehicle size can go up or down at least one size, wwithout worry of warranty. Think about it, these trucks with the same motor and powertrain you have, can be sold from the dealer straight out of the manufacturer with a 16 or 17 inch rim, also with either tire size you just mentioned. So there really is no way they can deny a warranty claim over that. If they do, just gladly walk them out and show them a new one with the 17 inch wheels on it. Kinda makes their argument invalid.

My tires are listed in the for sale section but I let it sink, I think I'm just going to keep them for now. I went with FN wheels. I even replaced the spare rim so there wouldn't be any problems if someone else was driving my truck and got a flat since the FN wheels use a splined lug nut. I did remount the OEM spare tire on the new rim.

    OP posted the same size

265/70/16 tires to the TRD Pro 17" Wheels and 265/70/17
    just a rim size difference

the road facing part of the tire is identical if you use the sizes OP posted

    sheesh
