what diff fluid?

I got this TRD OR locker rear end that is going on my SR5 this weekend and I can't seem to find what fluid to use or even an amount.
I searched and see some are running 75-90w oil??
not sure if I should use just plain gear oil or some synthetic.

anyone that has done this on their truck know what and how much I should be using?

my bro just changed his just a few weeks ago in his 07 TRD OR. He used 75-90w synthetic. It took 3 quarts.

i used this write up. picked up some 75w90 synthetic from walmart. easy change. runs smooth.held the whole 3 qts.

seems like you guys are all running Mobil1 synthetic. No problems?

I was at the dealer today and they laughed when I asked about the gear oil, turns out they do sell some ....for $67 a quart!!!?? WTF!!!!
it did say for LSD and transfer cases.. so it probly wasn't the right stuff
but I'll just get some at the autozone.

I know you don't have a mechanical LSD like mine, but I just changed mine a couple hours ago.

I knew it called for 3 quarts, plus being an LSD, I added a tube of friction modifier. The tube was 7 oz, so I figured 3 quarts plus the modifier would be plenty. Sadly, I added all of it and it never did quite pour out the fill hole.

I filled it until it started to come out the fill hole, then let it sit as I read I should to let it work its way down the axles. Gave it probably 5-10 minutes, opened it back up and I was able to add more. It took everything I had and still didn't quite pour out the fill hole. But, looking in with my Surefire flashlight, I could see it was pretty much up to the hole. The amount I was short must have been extremely minute, so I decided to just go with it and left it at that.

Now I'm concerned about changing my 6MT though. It calls for 1.9 quarts, and I only ordered 2 quarts of Red Line.
