I have the same lowest gear that I had with a 24t cr and an 11-36 cassette. I ride in middle Tennessee and Chattanooga and although I only have 1 ride in this setup, I haven't run out of gears with the previous 2x10 that had the same low gear.

I need to take some measurements. As long as everything will clear I am planning on joining the 27.5+ movement with my 29er. Anyone else done the switch?

Why drive a Chevy when you already have a Cadillac? :)

The only issue you may run into is the width or/and shape of the chain stays. The 27.5+ tires may not fit easily in the space designed for regular width 29'er, so your choices (if any work) may fall on the narrow side of plus. My REEB will fit an aggressive 29x2.35 with wiggle room but 27.5x3 didn't seem likely in my quick test. Lots of Google time and a 6-pack for your local mechanic to test fit a few tires will be necessary.

I won't do it...I like speed on the ups too much...and would rather not add 1/2lb to each wheel.

I think 2.8 will clear on my Rumblefish. The big hesitation for me is my BB is already pretty low. I found a wheelset for cheap on Amazon. I may give it a shot.

Nice, we had one at the shop I work at. Was a very fun fat bike, much preferred over the Specialized FatBoy

Thanks I'm stoked to put some miles on it, I haven't owned a bicycle in about 20 years and I've always wanted a fat bike. The tires are massive!

Nice, congrats on the purchase man. You need to try those things in the snow, so much fun!

Did I see a few pages back where you had a plus size tire bike too?

Edit: just found the posting, a different person

Yeah, I've got a Borealis (among others o_O). I've got 4" tires as of now, when the snow comes I may have to go bigger though... :D

Got about 50 miles now on a Santa Cruz Bronson and another 100 on a Hightower. I prefer the big wheels on the Hightower...but the Bronson feels snappier uphill and scarier down.
