Check out my girlfriend's brother's jeep Willys build. Fully caged. It's rear end is officially done. Front under progress.

Haha he would have had fun putting around on the fire roads at least. We flew down the hill. Took no time to get back. Sorry I couldn't stay longer with you guys. Aside from shitting my pants, I had a blast

    Mini-ish trip report:

    Rowher Flats OHV:

I needed a break this weekend and saw that @SlipperyTaco was organizing a meet up. Couldn't help myself.

Aired down and ready to go (almost lost a valve stem, just the start of my many mistakes to be made...)

We ended up doing lookout trail. It was a blast, but I made a few mistakes. Luckily all were fixable and we remained safe!

My turn wasn't quite as graceful as others. It was a tough area, but me choosing an absolutely terrible line and having a top-heavy vehicle almost resulted in catastrophe. Not the best pic but you get the idea.

Luckily Lindsay's Brother, Ryan and @dtaco06, helped me out of it.

My problem was getting hung up on my gas tank and diff. Diff isn't scratched, but gas tank skid was stock and is a bit bent. I'll need a new one. The gas tank hangs so low on these...

When landing back on all fours, I clanked my IFS skid into a rock pretty good. It held up just fine. I was surprised because it is aluminum. Happy with it!

We made it to the top and took a short rest. The dogs and Lindsay were very happy to be upright again!

    Always posing:

At the top, We needed to split off and head down since we needed to be back home early. First time I've ever used my 15 dollar Amazon compressor and it worked great! Can't wait to have OBA though. @MADSTEEZE was showing me his set up and I'm jealous.

I'll have to look into those springs down the line. My plan right now is Pay off my rear bumper with @RelentlessFab, save for rotopax and lights going in the bumper, do my on board air set up, then some upgrades.

That will be nice. I actually bought the HD's in preparation for the bumper. With the bumper and tent on, I should be still slightly raked. With a load of camping gear, I'll be about level. I'll reevaluate once I'm in that boat. I've had it piled down with tons of supplies and the tent and it still has rake though.

Yep! Just want a 3/8" steel one for the tank. The current 1/8 steel foil isn't good enough. I'm waiting on what Relentless designs for Brittony's rig.

Make sure your bumps are setup correctly with those metal tech springs. Saw an FJ up here that he had metal tech install TC +2 up front with bypasses and LT rear coils, air bumps and shocks. They fucked his truck up.
They used mid travel coil overs with an adapter for the LT kit up front so it has less droop than a MT setup (angle is different)
In the rear they put their coils in but they bind before the air bump ever even hits. Completely useless. Don't let this happen to you

Interesting. My current springs don't have that issue. I hit my bumps a few times this last trip so I know they are connecting. I love the click, psshh sound that the bumps make haha

Haha me too. Just be careful with metal tech.. And the shop called metal tech, who said they knew all of this and just didn't care. I'll never go to metal tech for anything after this

    Pismo Beach/Oceana Dunes (07/10/2016)

I loaned @logcabinwc my RTT for his trip around the Western US, so I needed to get it back. We decided to meet up in Pismo, make the transfer, and cruise the dunes.

    Transfer Done:

Moving the tent was a pain in the ass. I need to find a better way to move it on/off of my Frontrunner Rack...

I'd never been to Pismo before so I didn't know what to expect. It was awesome!

We played on foot a bit as well. Wow it is exhausting to crawl up the dunes haha.

After stopping in this spot for a bit, I decided to do some donuts around @logcabinwc. The wind was crazy that day so his tires got buried and we had to pull him out.

    Moving again!

Just made final payment on rear bumper. Now to save for rotopax and Rigid SR-M flush mounts. Anybody got any ideas for rerouting my back up cam?

Hey Matt. I'm hosting a mod day at my house on the 7th of August. If you're in town you should try to make it out, and bring your bumper if it's not already on.

I think I'm free that weekend. Won't have the bumper yet, but I have a few other things I need to crank out. Thanks!

It's trending! Wish I could have gotten that Cement color.

I also see no difference between the off road and the current trail...
