that was my main concern was getting the top cap off the body when i was thinking about it all. more im looking at doesnt seem worth it. i could get some pennies for what i have now and for really not much more than just normal 16 triples i can get a killer deal from filthy for 18" 3.0 smoothies with finned pure race resis and IBP for the price of 18 triples. think 3.0s are too much for the rear of a DC? gonna have dual spares, jack, cage, and a tool box, and maybe if i find a nice spot a fuel cell also

Nah won't be too much, shocks will just stay cooler and the oil will last longer cause there's more volume

Just gotta have or make the right parts.

This was to heat the spring adjuster and get it to move to adjust ride height. Same concept to remove the top cap with my 24" adjustable wrench.

I would rather have bypasses on a leaf sprung truck, makes tuning easier, plus you can speed up the rebound more which is always needed. I'd vote neither choice, get 3.0 bypasses:D

    how?

no different than holding a coated shaft the same way and better than a chain wrench or large pliers.

Nevermind, looked like the coating at the top was ruined from having to use heat, now I realize they are just old SAWs. Either way, when removing the top cap most of the time you have to heat them up pretty good, which on a nice shinny shock there is a chance of ruining the coating

List them down here in El Paso! It's not a long drive and I'm sure you can find a buddy who's traveling down here or someone willing to meet half ways. Slowly but surely it seems to want to grow down here once again. Specially now with the TORRA league doing all the races nearby and everyone is stepping up to bigger/better toys.

hmmmm I could get pure race 3.0 triple 18s for 200 more :anonymous: idk. Lots of choices still figuring out everything. Wanna get my spare cage and some other goodies before I pull the trigger on the bigger stuff

Thats a press works better than a vice.

A small propane torch will not hurt a thing other than to get rusted or corroded parts to move. Better then dropping 1k on new bodies when it's not needed.

It's on my list. I'm afraid it's asking to blow up the front diff though. 7.5"+ locker +V8 + crawl box = busted shit. RCV joints are an easy upgrade, but I don't have a plan B if the diff gives out all the time. I dunno if the chain drive tcase is going to like that either, but at least it can be upgraded if needed.
