Took my truck in for the 10k service and brought the TSB to the attention of Mike Montgomery, Asst Service Manager. He wrote down all my concerns regarding the transmission delay and CC shifting. He wasn't aware of the TSB. I also told him that yesterday my CEL and Trac-Off light popped on for a bit then disappeared.

Toyota Glendora kept my truck for 5 hours! I called after 4 hrs and Mike stated that the CEL was due to my 'aftermaket' electrical under the dash. I think he was referring to my stereo upgrade, hah. And I could tell he was trying to point the finger at that but I know none of that had to do with the transmission.

I picked it up with the TSB installed (referenced on the invoice) even through Mike said they couldn't replicate it but 'that's ok' because my VIN# was part of the TSB.

Will update with how the truck drives later

Just got done with the TSB update and......

The truck DEFINETLY, shifts better, noticed it because usually the first couple shifts the truck feels as if it's holding the revs very low which makes me put my foot down a bit harder then making the truck lurge forward and over accelerating but that is no longer an issue, truck feels a lot more responsive and not as delayed as it previously felt when accelerating. image.jpg

No I did not. Bought the truck from Capital Toyota in San Jose. When I called the service manager (Jesse) about my concern of low tranny fluid he was a total JERK to me. Pretty much treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. So I called Livermore Toyota and they treat me as if I bought the truck there.

We tried to get the truck through Livermore or Dublin but they just didn't have the model we wanted and we needed to complete the purchase before Jan 1st to get the write off. I will definitely give them first shot again next time. Great people.....

    TSB WORKS GREAT FOR ME
I had front passenger body mount replaced today (where radiator mount/crossmember meets passenger side frame.) Mine creeked a little at 4 months old and quit. Then on her 6 month birthday the endless squeaking started. Not 100% of the time but a real close 80%. I should have investigated more in April. Seems to have been an issue for a few years but not for noise as much as wear and fatigue. Mine, according to Corporate and the dealer, was not installed correctly causing metal to metal contact. That area of the truck flexes and when it went completely bad I parked it for 11 days until my parts came in. You are fortunate to catch it now. My dealer was new to the problem on 2016's so I got Corporate involved to help shed light and expedite repairs. Got tranny flashed and just went for a 20 mile run. It seems fine now. It almost seems like after 10 miles it became more consistent and expected. No delays or hesitation. Possible higher upshifts to 2 and 3. They were equally as slow as R to D. Don't dog it any (YET) so will see on next road trip. Happy with it. While there also repaired grease smear on glass. Replaced top interior window rubber. Had to order speedo cluster for bad unexpected trip meter/tank mpg resets. Installed tpms. 3 factory installed were broken. Nice to actually use the feature after 2 months without. I did ask the service "writer" if there were any tuning flashes. He just answered with the company line "these engines have as much power as the 4.0" so based on that I must have had a Toyota 5.0 in my last Taco. Well STILL WAITING for one of these TW GURUS to announce a TUNER for the 3.5.

I don't know the name of the service writer. Printer was down so I can't look at the invoice. He had glasses smelled like cigarettes and was in his 50's a dickish fellow for sure. Once the dealer mails me my invoice I'll let you know. One thing for sure though, I did notice my truck shifted through gears much crisper with no lag...

Dealer didn't say boo to me they did the work and off I went. Took them 30 minutes or less to load new software...

    Yeah, that guy reeks.
First they told me they wouldn't do the TSB without replication. The they told me that they wouldn't clear the adaptive learning, and that changing the blinkers and disabling the panic button were not programmable settings on the 16s. I finally talked to the tech and convinced him do do everything. It took another 45 minutes and 2 techs but they completed everything. He said they changed the menus on the tech stream and had to find everything.

Glad you got it done with minimal drama.

Got mine done Friday last week and just chiming in to report that its like a different truck. Delays are gone and shifting is much more predictable. If you have not got it done you are really missing out.
