Spotted a black TRD Off-road, MA tags, mesh grille, Old Town sticker on the back window, headed north on 146 out of RI ~6pm. Anyone here?

Haha, mine makes a lot of noise at highway speed. I can hold 65 for 5-10 mile stints and 70-75 for short distances. I'd add a tooth up front if I were going to attempt highway speeds for extended periods. My master plan is, buy an Eiger 400 jug and a higher compression piston for it (probably bored to a true 400cc) and then I think I'd have a good all 'rounder. It should have enough ass to handle the higher gearing.

    SPT is a joke.

Disclaimer: Had SPT intake and exhaust.

They were good for warranty purposes but STi Genome catback >>> SPT Bosal.

The average stanced Subaru owner makes me groan. I miss 2007 when only the average IT nerd drove a Subaru.

So, when I twisted up my running board, I broke free one of the nuts inside the body that holds it in place. Now I've got a bracket held on by a single grade 8 bolt and a blind nut that just spins in place. Any suggestions for getting this thing off so that I can mount up my sliders after I paint them this weekend?

It may come to that, but it's not going to be easy, maybe a dremel with a stack of cut-off disks. The bracket wraps around the head of the bolt on two sides. Too dark now for pictures, but I'll snap something in the morning. I was hoping the collective mind had some trick I hadn't thought of.

You can use a cutoff wheel to cut the top of the bolt off. Drop all the other bolts and use the weight of the running board to put pressure on the nut as you cut it off. Sketchy but it might work. I just removed my running boards today, stuck the old hardware back into the holes for now because I didn't have anything to plug them.

    Also
Need to find a way to mount shackle points to the front of the truck similar to these but instead of downward mounts I want them flat facing forward or something. SOS said they would fit but I don't see how they do... By the looks of it the shackle mount would only grab on via one bolt.

As they say, it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. I ride with a buddy that can toast me almost anywhere on his Ninja 250. Pisses me off. I need a lot of road to wrap around him!

Yeah, that's more-or-less my next step. If the running boards aren't installed, what's in those holes from the factory, are they just empty or do they install bolts?

How about the @Mobtown Offroad front recovery bar? http://mobtownoffroad.com/product/front-recovery-bar/

Not entirely sure what was in there before, could just have been stickers over them like I have seen on other vehicles but for now those bolts will do until I can get a wire wheel to the underside of the truck and touch up the rusted spots. Its getting pretty bad down there...

I was just looking at that recovery bar. I was hoping to get something mocked up for this weekend because I don't have a front recovery point other than that tow ring.

You'll have to cut the bolt off and if the sliders use the same frame nut you'll have to see if you can get a nut in there and hold it or use a heavy duty rivnut to replace it.

Empty holes with little plastic covers over them from the factory if you don't have running boards.

Neither. Plastic plugs in the holes. Mine didn't have them and I bought Westin bars a few months later.

Works for me. I'm planning on spraying the underside with some Monstaliner when I hit the tops of the sliders this weekend. I'll see what I can dig up for plugs/body clips/etc at Autozone and plug the holes with them before I shoot it. That should do a nice job of keeping the crud out of the lower body.

Worst case I reckon you could mask them off or something. I forget what the plugs looked like but they came off in April 2013 on mine and zero crap behind them after 3 1/2 yrs.
