A remake of Big Trouble in Little China is a bad idea. A terrible idea. The original film is such a unique and unusual product of its era, and trying to recreate it is the cinematic equivalent of capturing lightning in a bottle. Even more so, The Rock is the complete wrong choice to play Jack Burton in a new Big Trouble. Kurt Russell’s anti-hero was a blue-collar everyman surrounding by supernatural beings. The Rock isn’t that. The Rock should be remaking They Live if he wants to play in John Carpenter’s sandbox. That makes more sense.

At the same time, The Rock does acknowledge that this is all in the planning stages, and if they realize it’s not a good fit, it’s never too late to pull the plug.

He does tell EW:Let’s see what feels good, what we can come up with and then go from there. And as we write it, if the whole thing starts to stink up, then we thank everybody for their efforts and accept this just couldn’t make it."

I will watch the new Ghostbusters. But I'll watch as a fan of those comedians. Like it's just a new movie. I won't be watching as an original Ghostbusters fan. For one, I wish they would of left some things the same. Specifically the Ecto 1! That car was as badass as it gets! (I have a Hot wheels Ecto 1 that stays on top of my TV in the family room) It didn't need to be improved or changed. But things like that is the reason I won't be watching as an original fan.

But some of these other remakes are god awful. I don't hate remakes if they're done right. But they continue to fuck them up. I guess though, they keep making money off of them. So they'll keep doing it.

And The Rock is not a good actor IMO.

    Agreed.

The only good remake/sequel I like is Terminator 2. T2, IMO, was better than the first.

The theater near me does this also. Saw Robin Hood: Men in Tights a while back.

It it worse than the remake of Point Break? It was like someone was watching the original, and decided they could adapt a Fast & Furious theme to it. Oh and tattoos. Apparently tattoos had to be a thing for that movie.

No I don't think any remake was as a bad as point break to be honest.

Everybody go watch "Stranger Things" on Netflix like right now. ESPECIALLY if you were an '80s kid or like '80s Mystery/Horror/Thriller/Monster/Conspiracy movies.
It's like Goonies meets X-Files meets E.T meets Super 8. It will not disappoint. I was hooked from the opening credits:

35 in April over here. How do you celebrate birthdays in your thirties? I simply ask for a nap and a sixer of decent beer.

Well i usuqlly always have to work, then afterwards, my nieces always want to make me a cake and have a little party, so i do that and then go home and have a few cold ones. Nothing real exciting anymore. Work takes up most of my time right now.

Every year I go to our cabin up north where for a week. My wife and I are up there for a few days alone and she brings up outfits and I take photos of her. My sig pic is from my 32nd bday photoshoot. Then we bone a lot and after a few days a bunch of my friends will come up and hang out with us to drink, cook meat, and go wheeling somewhere.
