    Do you have SAR experience?

The volunteer portion is just the formal background check process that allows you to deploy with LE and be around kiddos.

I went to Oregon (Medford, Applegate, Grants Pass, Jacksonville) for the first time over a week ago, such a beautiful place! God bless your recreational marijuana.

That'll be a tough sell to help out SAR (specifically). However, there are tons of volunteer positions available through Washington County.

Sometimes the SAR group needs additional people (volunteers) to help with SARTA (SAR school) every year. Plenty of opportunities to help out in various groups, though.

Even to me it sounds odd, but I've never used marijuana. Considering it though. Gotta do something for pain management.

Do you mean volunteer experience, or SAR experience?
Getting started with SAR involved a background check (since we were affiliated with the police department), minimal equipment (my group required a functioning 4x4), and the physical capability of helping on a search. Everything else was learned through them, and equipment was personally purchased over time. There was a certain level of training and equipment needed before advancing to a level where I could deploy on missions as a driver.

What I meant is that I want to feel them out. Some groups can be... special.
I like groups that take themselves seriously, are reasonable, and are professionals.
I've met the guys who are all gear (which often means strobes), all ego, no idea, no motivation. I don't need them.
I know I have a lot of gear and sometimes not all the idea, but I'm not carrying an ego and want to be taught. When I'm out there, I'm motivated - if the job calls us to hike in the rain, I'm doing it to save a person's life. There is no, 'make the other group do it'. I rely on my team to be cohesive extensions of myself. If the rest of the group doesn't have that mentality, I don't want to be part of it.

    Ah... I gotcha now.

What I meant by "not wasting your time" is that I can get you hooked up with the right people to talk to. I could also pass along or ask the questions you may have and get back to you.

However, given your experience level, you may be more comfortable contacting them directly (or the volunteer coordinator) for more information.

Just let me know how I can help! :)

I placed my order on May 1st and last night around 7PM the UPS guy finally showed up. Judging by the looks of it, I think this will be a great cooler for years to come.

Yeah I found out about the Ozark Trail coolers shortly after I purchased this one. Slightly cheaper but they are always out of stock too apparently.

I ordered on of those a couple weeks ago. I wanted the tan but they said it would be another month and a half to get it so I went for the white. It is supposed to ship out Aug 1st.

Mine was originally supposed to ship at the end of May and once the shipping date came up they all of the sudden changed it to July 17 . Hopefully they don't do that to you too!
