No definitely not stripping it! Just readjusting a bit to make it better for my needs. Thats all. Everything else about the truck is a win.

Kids are awesome. I wish all the time that I would have done it sooner. I will be 40 a few weeks after #2 shows up.I can hardly wait to drag them both out in the woods. My 3 year old has already layed claim to my Tacoma.

Just like kids, I should have gotten one sooner. In 07 when bought my stupid fucking xterra, I was considering a runner or Tacoma just didn't want to spend that much back then.

Didn't like the xterra? I travel and wheel with some buddies who have them a love them. I couldn't do a SUV... not after having a pickup. With the dog and all of my cycling events and races and camping. No way i would be able to operate out of an SUV.

It was a love hate relationship. It was the first brand new vehicle I ever purchased. It broke a lot. So much that Nissan extended the warranty to 100k. I had intended to make a drive able off roaster with it but I didn't trust it enough.

Where do you plan to keep your spare tire?

I know swing-outs are a PITA, but personally, I don't like my tire under the truck. Not that I've every needed it at midnight in the rain on a muddy road...

Look at a PelfreyBilt non-HC plate bumper. That's what I have - as soon as I build my swing-outs for it, I can mount it on the truck.

My 3rd just showed up, I can fit three car seats side by side! :woot: My three year old already wants to drive my "monster truck," I'm looking forward to lots of adventures with them in the tacoma.

It is also a great dd with my bike in the back at all times for rides whenever possible.

Seems like I remember a certain someone citing this as their reason for not wanting a swingout when another certain someone was trying to persuade the original certain someone into building a swingout for their TG bumper. :anonymous:

HAHAHAHA yea yea. I thought "maybe if I build it smaller it will be ok" Still a pain in the ass. The swing out works great and looks great but its still in the way. And im in and out of the back of my truck a lot.
