Is there any benefit to evolving a pokemon when they have a high arc? I have a drowzee i can evolve but his arc is pretty low. Should I power him up a few times and then evolve?

i was just thinking the same thing, it really shouldn't matter if you evolve and then power up or power up then evolve it will take the same amount of candy either way

 

But it would take less candies and dusts if they had a higher arc to begin with

 

I've caught a ton of stronger pokemons and especially 2nd evolutions that I would've been mad about wasting candy/dust on the 1st evolution I was sitting on thinking I was going to power up/evolve. I hoard my dust like I'm prepping for a pokemon apocalypse

 

I have a decent 270 cp drowzee, I transfer all my weaker one to get candy but idk when is the best cp to evolve them at.

 

We'll need to for those high levels/last evolutions we want to hang onto.

 

oh yeah no doubt but like if you go on a mega evolution binge and the say have a cp 380 pidgeoto and then catch a 380 pidgey it would take more candy to evolve the pidgey twice and then cap out even tho it would be a way higher pidgeoto, it would most likely not be a 12 candy cp higher to justify the evolution.

 

Drowzee can go to 1075.14 CP

If you evolve him, you'll get a Hypno with 561-564 CP.

It looks if you can wait until you get about a 600 CP one, you get a 1248-1254 CP Hypno.

Do not use Stardust until you are at least Lvl 20 where you can use it to max the arc that last little bit

 

So I sound like a newb now so what if i have a pokemon like porygon that cant evolve but he has 470cp? How do i raise his cp other than using the stardust.

 

I see what you're saying but if I'm doing a mega evolution, it'll be a shit load of pidgeys and any pokemon that only require 12 candies. If I'm trying to get a pokemon that I want to use in battle, I'm choosing the one with the high arc and evolving him.

 

That's what I have been doing with my Eevees. I haven't evolved one yet but I keep 3 in my bag at all times and obv the highest 3 I have. I thought I was doing good with 3 in the 300s with pretty decent arc but then I see you fools posting 500+ ones. I'll keep searching before I evolve
