Yeah the original lights were in there. And I just switched them with blue led's. My ashtray light was burned out but not the glove box.

I'm very impressed by this, I've had my 03 since 2005, and can honestly say that I've never known that it had a light in the glove box! A whole new world is opened up before me and my newfound knowledge, thanks OP!!!!

...off to SuperBrightLEDS.com to finally replace my burned out speedometer lights, my gas gauge light, and you guessed it, my glove box!

The glove box light only comes on when you have your outside lights on. Not when you open the glove box. There is no switch or anything. I also added rock lights under the hood since I had none under there. I used an Anzo magnetic switch so the light goes out when I shut the hood and I also have an auxiliary switch to turn the lights off if I'm going to be working on under the hood during the day!

How did you get to the bulb under the gear selector?

It's a neo 3 bulb. Once you get the button out you will see the bulb base. You just unscrew/twist it put with a small flathead screwdriver.

It's a #74 led and you just unscrew four screws from the plastic that surrounds the gear selector. This is one of the easier jobs to do. Here are the pictures I used to do the job. Hope this helps.

Same here. I didn't even know that it had a light in that ash tray either as I never use it for anything. Now I have to get some cool lights to replace the burnt out ones.

Just finished replacing my instrument and climate controls (pics here along with which bulbs I used), did anyone else have their high beam indicator stop working?

I hate to think its the bulbs I used... Arggggh. I haven't ripped everything apart yet since its just the high beam indicator. Figured if it was a bulb issue then I would wait until after I ordered and received the new bulbs.

My high beam indicator light stopped working when I installed HID projector retrofits. But I've heard you can buy something to remedy that if you really need to see the indicator light. I can tell when my high beams are on or not. Just by if the switch is forward or in it's original position. Also by how bright the headlights are.

Just the light stopped working? If the truck thinks a bulb is out it will stay on low beams no matter what - thus making the high beam light not work.

I bought a ignition illumination ring out of a 01 4Runner and am going to do the retrofit so I was wondering if any knows the LED equivalent for the green condom bulb that lights up the ring. Otherwise I'll just pull the green off and go with a bright white illumination ring. I have blue LEDs everywhere else in my interior so I'd like to replace that bulb with an LED.

Just use any LED and wire it up with the proper resistor.

ah i've never seen one in person. if it was me i'd just put an LED in place of where the bulb was and solder it back together. can't help ya with a plug and play bulb, sorry.

lighting gels I had left over from another instrument cluster I had completed
to add to it i don't know why that picture is so bad. it's blurry and looks cracked but the actual gauges aren't. that's also a very old pic... last i looked the tank had 222k-ish miles haha

Since were on the subject, is there a way to illuminate all the instrument cluster lights to see if any bulbs are blown without taking it apart?

    Perhaps through the diagnostics box?

Hey just put in 4 blue leds in the instrument cluster. Two lights are blue, but two resort to a green. The led is blue, but when you rotate the led bulb it’s either super bright green or a dim blue. How did u guys get all blue?
Before and after with new led’s. Do I need the 360 leds?
