Sounds like we will have to use it if we ever get a chance to meet up so I can give you that carpet. :boink:

Because of the tinted windows the lighting gets all weird and it makes it look like a hack job back there. When I have a piece of black carpet under it all it will look tip-top.

    Oh yeah, did these earlier...

Yeah, they're probably not much more accurate than guessing.

Another option is to pick up a calibrated microphone such as the EMM-6 that will also let you fine-tune using REW or other software/apps. It's good to 127 dB...which is plenty loud for a full-range signal. UMIK-1 is a popular choice as well. You can totally use your phone as a dB meter with the right software - just don't use the built-in mic ;)

Yeah I jumped the gun and didn't mention most of the bars (I worked at) cap the sound at 92-95db so people can still sort of talk and that the iPhone app was never, by me, tested at anything higher, which is apparently where they plateau...

Just unboxed it. Much to come.
Would this box fit the 2017 with motor. It looks like it would.

    Update:

    Replaced 250/1 with a 500/1

Amp under the 40 side cabin vent died from moisture getting in around the vent when I washed truck or a heavy rain. Taped around vent, smeared silicone around it and then a couple of days later blasted it with that rubber flex seal spray. Put a new amp in. Luckily the class D JL stuff is very affordable. I found one from a buddy...

May throw the 12" version of the box in there if it fits and run a pair of the 400/4s bridged to front and rear. Not expecting a ton of more output just enough to make the stereo 'too loud,' per se, hahahaha

Also toying with running a Tweak 88 to get the imaging perfect. Plus the EQs would be nice. Don't want the extra stage of 'volume knobs,' which is now what's holding me back from just doing it.

    Forgive the typos; iDevice.

Let me know if the 12 gets in there. I have a 13tw5 sitting under the bed and a 500/1 with it. I was going to sell it but I have learned over the years that when I get rid of something I regret it down the road. The twk 88 seems pretty cool to me. JL just came out with new amps with a DSP built in. Might look at those. I have a second volume control now with the Mosconi. My headunit is a brick now. It does nothing but show me vehicle readings and maps. I don't really touch it. But the Mosconi DSP has a Bluetooth chip that I relay the music directly too. I worry because I heard people getting water in the car from the brake light over the rear windows. I guess if I ever have a leak I will relocate my amps under seats. Never thought that would be a problem.

So on the 60% side I removed the hook in the back wall. My plastic bins are already out and the plastic seat back is out. I spaced out the upper seat back with 5 washers on the two sides of the hinge. The 12" TW3 box fits like a glove. It hits hard but for me it was just about the little extra for music that was wicked bass shy (like early Van Halen) and my sub just needed a little more ass. Still running the sub off the JX500/1.

SOOOO impressed with the single 12...

Just sold the Tacoma yesterday. Yanked the stereo. Got the 4Runner. Bass options are endless

Been debating that since day one. Love my truck. Went there to buy a 4 runner but the interior fabric was. It my thing. Wanted simple and black or charcoal
