Doesn't seem too bad. Under warranty at least. Through some quick browsing through forums about the Panamera I was able to find out...Porsche owners think 40-50k on a car is high mileage.

I do understand cost of ownership would be on the high side.

geez. I have a fleet of 3 early 1990s Mercedes E class. (NERD alert!)

all three combined don't cost me ANYthing near that kinda scratch to keep on the road, 2 of them have about 250k miles.

the ratty 260E in the back was a freebie from a friend, had a fuel injection problem. I fixed that after 2 years of tinkering, then got my wife the white wagon, and eventually myself the black cabrio, even tho I dislike black. as it has turned out, the ratty sedan is the most reliable of them.. too bad its ugly.

Fo real? Broken down/needed repairs 7 times in less than 30k miles? Sounds like crap to me. Now i know, i know, its a porsche not a Toyota... But that seems like a deal breaker for me.

Yeah, it's a tough pill to swallow. But how does the 911 drive vs a comparably equipped competitor from the same time 2011? at around 100k brand new, it's going to be a completely unique experience even compared to used super cars like the gallardo or 360 spyder. And even unique amongst comparably priced tesla roadster, nissan gtr, aston martin db9, and lotus exige.

There's something to be said about refinement in a vehicle, ie when a car manufacturer gets everything right and there's no need for changes on the experience side. But yea, there'll always be production quality issues with cars like these because Porsche isn't churning out several million of them like Toyota Camrys or Toyota Hiluxes.

So, here's a fun fact! The new Ford Edges are all wheel drive, and have ZERO recovery points on them! Sister in law with sisters and my wife hit the beach with us, followed us to the edge of the dunes and then said they were gonna go back to the beach. 'ok', we were on the main track through the camps, I was airing down and just assummed theu were going to turn around right there and go back up the main path that was a bit more packed than every else. Nope, wife calls to say they are stuck about 100 yards around the corner. I drive over thinking 'this will be quick, and I can test out my new recoveey gear!'. I look under the front and rear of the car and theres Nothing there. The front is all bumper with plastic all the way to the engine skid plate and theres just all bumper and mufflers on the rear. We literally had to scoop out the wheels 3 times and get 4 people pushing on the rear to get it through the shitty spot.

In other news, fence line went from 100 yards of whoops and like 2 miles of just slightly hilly sand, to about 1 1/2 of whoops that are slightly hilly. Fun times, videos and pics to come later

You live in the SLV? My parents had a problem with one of those a few years ago. Pulled 2, 50 ish pound goats over a 5' fence and killed and ate most of them.

That's awesome, crossed paths with one years ago on a nite hike up to moon rocks. I nearly shit my pants and I think he (or she) followed us for a few miles before it showed its face. We had an eerie feeling the whole way up that something was following us.

I know we're spoiled by our Toyotas and Lexus. But I don't have high hopes that anything is reliable nowadays.

My moms Lexus GX with 36k on it stayed at the dealership for 3 months before she decided to just Lemon it because she wanted a car back.

Look at the bright side...he said smooth sailing for 30k after that fiasco.
