Update, went and got my truck and the service ticket stated that the TSB was performed but no sticker and that they checked the ATF. My major issue was the delay from P-D R-D when cold. I will check it when it cools down but otherwise it felt about the same in regular driving. As for the ATF I can say they are big fat liars!!! I marked the bolt with clear silicone and it was still there. Again, that is Toyota of Orlando...
I will call corporate first thing Monday!

You could drive to Gainesville... I marked my bolts before going to get the ATF check and at a minimum they turned the bolt... I wasnt standing there watching them but they had the truck about 5 hours and the bolt was turned...

Then again they wanted to keep my truck overnight to do the reflash yesterday, and it ended up taking them less than 2 hours and i got no sticker either....

Thanks for the info! I might just do that but first I want to hear what corporate has to say about my claim.

1 complaint I have about corporate so far they aren't very good about calling when they say they will. I feel like I always have to chase them down. Irritating.

I took my taco into the dealer on Wednesday, they said that yes there was a software update. I didn't mention TSB 0077-16 (I assumed) so when I picked it up the paper work said TC 1601 it's for the park to drive to reverse. That was my main concern. And it's smooth as silk. I guess I'll get the TSB 0077 when I get the first oil Change. My dealer says its at 10,000 miles. I've noticed some say 5000. What does the folks in TW think 5 or 10?

TC 1601 is the Op code for T-SB-0077-16.

And my dealer would not change my oil until my 10k service even though i live on a long dusty limerock road. They told me they only cover normal operating conditions... I went ahead and had them give me the 10k service early.

But some have had their oil changed at 5K. It's like everything else... Depends on the service department, the person you talk to, the weather, moon phase, etc...

Thanks, I'm glad I didn't go in bitching. Would have felt stupid. Still think ill get mine done at 5000, I'm an older guy and can't get it in my head after all my life changing at 3000. I'll pay for it just for the peace of mind.

I always performed 5k changes using synthetic blended oil. I am more bothered by the 0-20 viscosity oil than the 10k full synthetic change. Isn't water 0 viscosity too. If it is a Toyota miscalculation on frequency then we will know before the warranty is done. My Fords are the same way. I know the blend oil always looks clean at oil changes. These engines have such tight tolerances that 10k full synthetic is fine for normal driving. I think if I did much hauling or towing I would have the dealer do it at 5k and charge it as your free 10k service. Your free oil changes will just run out faster.

    It's not Zero-20, it's Oh-20.

I just do what they recommend.

The TSB has not gotten to all dealers. I had an appointment last Friday at modesto toyota in California. Wednesday my friend the service advisor called me after seeing my appointment and said he has not heard about a TSB. He actually cancel my appointment. Told Me he would keep me updated. That afternoon he called and said that there is a TSB and found out after calling the district reprep. I had it done Thursday. I have a friend at Tracy Toyota master tech and he had not heard of anything until I personally told him and texted him a copy of the TSB from this forum.

Sorry but it is zero-20. Zero is the calculated measurable pour point at zero degrees celsius. Just like 5-30 is calculated at 5 degrees celsius.

Well, I have a question. I've been following this thread for awhile. I purchased a 2016 SR5 V6 last week with 4 miles on the ODO I haven't experienced any transmission problems, I've got about 300 miles on it now and I live in pretty hilly country. I'm a little paranoid from everything I've read here and almost feel like I should be having some issues. From the date in the driver's door jamb it looks like my Tacoma was manufactured in 6-2016. What do you all think ?

The update was night and day for me. Usually my truck runs 3000-3200 rpm going 80 on the tolls. Now it actually up shifts and drops to 1900 rpm. Hoping I can average better than 17.8 mpg now! And I can peel out now:burnrubber:

If you aren't experiencing problems, then maybe it was already done to your truck, or maybe there's some other variable that is different.

Does your truck fall into the VIN range?

If you are happy, then I wouldn't bother. Some of the issues are pretty obvious, so if you aren't seeing them, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Just remember you have up to 80k miles to get this update if you do eventually have an issue.

Just picked up my truck TSB complete. I won't know if it did anything until Monday morning when I drive into work. Just driving surface streets I don't feel any change! I did not get any sticker, didn't check until I got home my bad! Service said all zerk fittings are fully greased checked zerks when I got home they don't have any sign of grease, just fresh factory paint on them.
