Went riding with a buddy around a lake 45 minutes South of me. Had a great time until his bike cut off. We were dumb and didn't bring any tools with us. Got it home and it was just the 10 amp main fuse that blew. Probably from his light bar shorting out....

Yeah, his was wired directly to the battery with a switch. No fuse or relay... Haha

I read all 48 pages of this and I still don't know if I want a CRF or a DRZ lol

or hell, even a Grom because they're so damn cheap and people absolutely love those things

I like my drz now that it has some guts with a big bore. Grom is dinky to ride but enjoyable. I'd get a supermoto before a grom.

I like my CRF, but if I was going to get another 250 I'd choose the WR250R. Lighter and more power stock.

As far as the DRZ, I don't care for them. No idea why. They're old and practically bulletproof as long as you make sure your bolts are torqued correctly, @Sacrifice :p

If I was going to get something other than a 250 supermoto, I'd convert a WR450F to a street legal supermoto or get the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto. But, both of those are going to be in the $11k range for all new all said and done...

I'm sure a DRZ would have plenty of power for what I'm going to be doing; mostly bombing around on two lane, around KC, and up and down 135th in Overland Park

Yeah for the price it's hard to beat a CRF from what I can tell. $5000 for a FI, bulletproof, fun-to-ride bike that is going to start ever single time.

Are you stationed in Warrensburg still? I haven't been keeping up with where you are now.

Yeah, being my first bike and the price point made it an easy pick for me.

I'm still here for at least another week. Will be moving sometime very soon hopefully.

Did you ever ride to KC on your CRF? Might be kind of a long ride all the way from Whiteman but I'm still curious.

LOL. I'm in KC so I'd say I have a pretty good idea of that and the drz.

Lmao hell yea. My friend and I blast around downtown as often as we can on the scooters we had in college, and I'm ready to move up to something more fun.

Nope. If I don't take the highway it would be at least a 2 hour ride. Not riding this thing on the highway doing 65 for about an hour. And if anything were to break I'd be screwed.

I've taken the bike up there with a truck a couple times. Sucks making that long of a drive back after riding all day.

As old as the drz is technology wise it's a great bike. The thing is a tank and run great. I can ride mine on the highway without issues at 85. In fact I've ridden it 2 hours on the highway straight, then back the same 2 hours in the same day with zero issues. I also beat the piss out of my bike and it just keeps working.

Why bother with a grom when there's already a slow crf :stirthepot:

Because small bikes are fun! I ride what I call the "Retro Grom" to work every day. It is a 1980 Honda Trail 70 that I engine swapped a 125 into
