The only appealing thing to me is leather with a stick shift but definitely wouldnt pay over msrp or even msrp for that matter for any vehicle just because toyota wants to make them seem super special by making them hard to find.

I finally had time to go by and see my dude at the dealership yesterday and was assured that I won't pay full msrp and that the truck will be here by September 10th. Same as everyone else, he doesn't have pricing since it hasn't been released but he said they have started production on the '17 trucks. He thinks he will have pricing by the end of this coming week and he said he'll have me some hard numbers to make a deal.

You are lucky. Selling below MSRP seems unlikely for most dealers.

I was guaranteed MSRP and I'm alright with that.

Which optional equipment do you want with your TRD Pro? I'm getting all weather floor liners/door sills, bed mat, predator tube steps, and mudguards. I figure I can take the steps and mudguards off when needed.

We have a pretty good relationship with them and the whole dealership in general. I'll post up after we have hard numbers and I've signed paperwork. I'm getting pretty excited to see that cement gray! Unfortunately the truck doesn't look like it'll have jbl or power sliding rear glass, but he said we can wait a little longer for one that does.... still not sure about that part.

I'm also at MSRP and I too agree. I spent 13yrs in the auto industry holding many positions within, i even did new car allocation for Nissan Motor Corp so I know what these guys are up against these days at the dealerships. When you're considering most new cars $45k and under (MSRP,) majority of your manufacturers only have 3-5% on markup from invoice. (this is averaging and also before any dealer incentives or market adjustments from the manuf.) If we consider the TRD Pro at $40k (I know this will spin a few people out who feel the TRD Pro is going to be $50k+++ but lets just use $40k for this example!) 5% of $40k is $2k, for a vehicle i desire and am getting the trim, tranny and color I want, I'm ok with that.

When you flip the roles here and look to sell you well maintained, overly pampered, garaged kept, all highway miles Tacoma to the next owner. Let's say he's asking you come to the bottom side of the spectrum when it comes to your vehicles value and you guys are apart by 5% and you think he's CRAZY for low-balling you, do you let him walk and wait for the next guy who will pay your asking price or do you agree and sell for 5% less than you were asking? If you've ever been sent on your way packing from a dealership you should now possibly know why!

With a used vehicle you usually never have to see the guy again but with a new vehicle I assure you'll be in the dealership for service and/or warranty issues (hopefully not but it does happen obviously!) But if and when you do, you'll most likely will be treated with respect, they typically go out of there way for you and do everything they can to make things right. I recently had a vehicle where all of the above applies and I did pay MSRP due to the vehicles desirability and availability, I went back to the dealership with tranny and navi issues @12k miles beyond the warranty's end. The tranny was essentially shot as so was the navi and they replaced them both at no cost to me.

There's a moral to the story here but I feel I don't need to spell it out, you either get it or you don't. FYI... I've been outta the biz for over a decade for all you skeptics.

    Happy shopping ladies and gents...

FYI, if you're in the SE and want a TRD Pro at MSRP I found a few of them in allocation during my searching and can at least steer you in the right direction (one of those being a cement AT arriving Sep 7th.) IM me for details.

Ordered a 2017 TRD PRO today. I expect full MSRP, which is okay with me. I'm going to lease...so I'm not worried about paying full MSRP as long as the money factor is low and resid val is high. I put down no deposit, and I can back-out if we can reach a deal. So basically, I'm on their email list, I guess?

My 2014 TRD Sport is way right-side-up...only 25K miles...like $5K in equity. I suspect they're more interested in that. Let you know just as soon as I hear what the MSRP is.

^looks good, little too high for my taste. Now just need grill, lights, fogs, interior, fox, hood, and it'll be close to a PRO!

The VIN I got from the build sheet comes up a 2017 but there isn't any additional information as it has yet to be produced. Im not sure what kind of VIN you got.

I like like sitting up a little higher than most but it's what I like. It's still a work in progress like most trucks. It'll get there I'm sure.
I sure hope the 17 pro is better than the 15 that was a disappointment.

Just like the TRD PRO press release. I guess? My '14 TRD Sport is an auto. But you're welcome to contact me off-line? Can't deliver it until new truck arrives. Sorry

I'm hesitant about ordering the all-weather floormats with the truck because I'm afraid the truck will not show up with the embroidered TRD Pro floormats or someone at the dealership will either toss them or steal them. I'll just order them later from the parts department.

I'm fine with paying MSRP as well. I really want the cement color. Don't really care about the other stuff. My only deal breaker is if it is not available with a moonroof.

Plan to be disappointed. I want a moonroof too but I don't think it's an option.

I keep reading it's not confirmed, but it sure sounds like the moon roof is not available. Oh well. I may still buy it. My truck is paid off, and i have the cash for the upgrade. Just don't want to lose that damn moon roof. I love it. <aftermarket moon roofs are not an option for me>

I am in the same position. The press release says nothing about additional options like the moonroof. Probably not a good sign.
