Bilstein 5100's set at 2.5?

    2009 Tacoma Sport access cab, how will Bilstein 5100"s effect the truck if I set them at 2.5"? Will it be nose high, will it eat CV's? Should I set the Bilsteins at another setting?

    Are you planning on doing anything to the rear? If not, and you're just wanting to level it out a little, I recommend setting it on the first notch which is 0.85". That number is based off a double cab since it's more popular, so you'll likely get a little more out of it with an access cab. Should be perfect.

    I done mine at .85 couldn't tell
    What I did, set them at 1.75 liked it a little better. Sits pretty level maybe a tad nose on schedule to have tbs done on the rear so that will Fix that.rides great. Had vibrations and done the ecgs bushing.(easy install) That fixed the vibes. Not keeping this too long will be going to 886 and AAL or dakars.

    2006 Access cab 4wd with 32k miles rear springs still have an arch. .85 was not perfect on
    Mine.

    Max setting rides awful you're compressing the spring to get height, it wont eat the CV but it will likely get the front diff growl unless you upgrade the axle output shaft bearing.

    I had 5100s set at 1.75 on my Access Cab. Actual lift was right about 2.5" I would strongly recommend not going any higher. 1/4" top plate spacers are fine though.

    It will eat the CV if the actual lift is close to 4 inches.

    I replaced them with 5100s and 885 coils. The 885 coils yield the exact same lift as the stock spring at the 1.75 setting. I added 1/4" spacers to get near 3 inches.

    I have Dakars with the AAL. It rides nice, but sits high AF. I wish I had taken the second overload leaf out or not added the AAL.

    Do you have any weight in the rear? I was thinking with a high clearance with spare tire with jerry cans dakars MIGHT be fine. If I don't do all that aal on TSB might be fine. I know for sure I'm
    Getting an arb and winch so 886 on the front will be for sure. Don't really want to buy uca but I guess I will have to.

    You'll be glad you did the UCA. I sure am.

    I have a fiberglass shell, a sleeping platform, my winch lives back there (with wire rope and extensions) and a bunch of other shit - around 500 pounds, I'm pretty sure.

    Can live with it. Wonders on the highway. if I had dakars I wouldn't put an aal on them. But you Have a good bit more weight than I will I think.

    Yeah, I went to 255 because of the road wander - that solved it, but the steering was still sporty. I had 265s with offset rims and they were miserable.
