The SR5 nameplate predates the Tacoma by 15 to 20 years. I remember a friend of mine that had a Toyota SR5 pickup back in the late 70s. We all thought that the "5" did stand for 5 speed, but that could have been just an assumption on our part. FYI

In the olden days SR5 stood for Rally Sport 5 Speed standard transmission ... somewhere in the late 80's - early 90's it included automatics and became a trim level ... my 2010 Tacoma was an SR5 4 speed auto.

Thanks man! I ended up going with a knock off of a bushwhacker pocket rivet style. I don't remember what exact company I ordered them through at the time but they were around $200 for the set if I remember correctly. When I was rebuilding the truck my original OEM flares were toast. To replace the factory look becomes very pricy (even for aftermarket!) and hard to come by at the wrecking yard.

New here, had to comment on your truck. Looks awesome. What lift and tire size did you go with? Looks perfectly balanced to me! I had a 91 taco that got totaled from being rear ended at a stop sign, picked up a 2016 AC looking for a lift and wheel combo. Yours looks on the money!

Nice! This one is killer too! What size lift and tire combo did you go with? Looks great!
