Dash light Question???

    32'' tires 5100 Bilstein Moto-Metal Wheels
    i have a 04 tacoma and two times now i have turned my lights on and only half of my dash light turn on. so the speed dometer lights up ( the right side) but the tac on (the left side) dose not :mad: if i tap on the glass it comes on.
    whats going on?
    how can i fix this?

    I think maybe they are energized in series by way of a printed circiut board kind of thing & sometimes in other vehicles I've owned, I've had kinda the same condition i.e; half the dash/gauges illuminated the other half not, then hit a bump & just like magic the whole dash lit up !! A couple days later hit another bump & back to the same old BS. It could either be the panel on the back of your dash that hold the bulbs/LED's in place has come loose or maybe the bulbs themselves......:cool:

    The one way to fix this is to remove your gauge box. There are 4 194 type bulbs that are twistlocks. It sounds like to me that they have became loose. There is a good thread on customtacos.com that shows you how to access the back of your gauges. I did it to change out the color amber for blue really easy should only take bout 30 mins. Hope this helps.

    thanks man no rush. I just want to see how they look never seen anything but orange and white lights for the dash.

    The pics look spotty but its cause of my camera. The LED's turned out amazing best light mod yet! I bought them at superbrightleds.com. [​IMG]these are the ones i used:

    These look pretty good. I did mine with some bulbs from the local parts store and it looks good but isn't very bright. I might have to order some of these to replace them with

    It's a big difference from the bulbs at like NAPA or whatever
