They're upgrading the 3.0's that are out now and making a new version. Supposed to be out mid September

I'm sure they'll tweak it somehow. Not sure on how much though. Output maybe?

honestly its just like any other product, the D2S 4.0's will be the "latest and greatest" but will more than likely be exactly the same at the current 3.0s with maybe one minor tweak that you would never notice haha

thinking Fox because they're local (somewhat) and parts will be basically next day air. Also easier to valve, more readily available.

But now i need bypasses or 2.5s on the rear, something better than these 2.0 foxes.

You could do that too! You need a shock relocation in the back to pull more travel. I forget the 4th gen that did it on here. Wishbone or something?

Exactly, 2.0 Icons with stock bumps, awful on hard hits, especially when loaded. New setup is fantastic, the bumps made a lot of the difference on the really hard hits, but larger shock and better valving to control it is quite noticeable. That setup took a LOT of work, and I am really happy with it, but if you couldn't make your own, a set like this guy's using the stock mounts would be much easier to get setup. One of the main things I wanted to get rid of was the stock pin mount though, I have seen a few pics of those broken, all Icon, but if you are flexing it a lot, the pin is an inherently weak design.
