With industrial strength velcro I picked up from Lowes. I cut the backing off of the grid it to get to the harder surface area. Also, I had to trim the edges a little to get the lid to close. I took off the plastic bit under the lid in order to keep it handy while I was trimming so I didn't have to keep walking back to the truck to test fitment. The dremel tool with the cutting disc is what I used till it broke, then the grinder tool actually seemed to work the best for me. Cleaned both the grid it and the plastic lid part I pulled off with isopropyl alcohol really good and then covered both with the velcro. Recently, out afternoon Temps here have been 105-110 degrees and I haven't notices any issue with the velcro failing at all.

Installed a Mishimoto weighted shift knob today that I got as a gift from my gf. Really happy with it, shifting has never been so easy. I also added a silicone washer to cover up the eyesore that is the top of the shift boot.
