Went up table mountain and liberty area with the wife and ran a few trails in the rain. It always amazes me how much that fire destroyed. For something build related sliders are showing up this week, and should have them up this weekend.

 

got to pick these up from fastenal today at lunch!

 

Well got the sliders welded up on saturday, and finished the CMC had to cut it back a bit more. Its nice having access to a plasma cutter it really makes life easy.




On sunday was bored and the wife was shopping with her sister, so went out for a little drive. It was a fun trip with a great view from the top. Used the motionX-GPS app as recommended by members here on the forum and it worked great. Love the ability to add photos to waypoints.

Well on friday got off work a bit early and went out did a nice 5 hour loop up manastash. It was pretty muddy on top which was fun, and also got to see a bunch of deer and elk.



On Saturday we decided to adjust the shackle flip kit to get a better angle after moving the mounting location forward we are now at a 45* angle at ride height. That small adjustment is allowing a lot more flex to the rear. While working on the shackle flip, we noticed the carrier bearing was shot, so pulled the drive line and replaced that. It so much smoother now, and the slight vibes we had are gone. But holy shit those things aren't cheap $250 from toyota.



After getting everything setup, I thought it would be fun to take my wife up to lake gallagher. So on sunday we headed out, it was a lot wetter this time of year compared to when we ran it last year in october.



Got to flex it out a bit on the way up Once we got to the top we stopped and had lunch, but the mosquitoes were brutal. We were there for like an hour and I have at least 20 bites.

 

I really want to go up but everyone says the misquotes are horrible.. Did you go up above the lake? Wonder if that higher elevation they are any better

 

When we got to the lake there was a group of people camping, as we were eating lunch they took off to above the lake. Then a group of FJ's came up and did the same thing. So just decided to head back down. On the way down some idiot was parked on the trail and could just squeeze by.

 

Oh okay. Hate when people do that haha

 

Have you ever had your AT Temp light come on making the climb up the lake?

 

No but Joe did. I put it in 4low for climbs like that, the lower gearing keeps the engine and transmission temps down.

 

I'll have to give that a try next time. I could smell that it was getting warm, then the light came on. Letting it set at the lake for lunch was enough to cool it down.

 

Do you have an ultra guage? Mine is really good and thats how I know when to put it in 4low
