OME or 5100/5125 for the new truck? My 5100s on the 2nd gen are still going strong after 42,000mi. I've been very pleased. But I've been advised by multiple 1st gen owners that the 1st gen bilsteins are crap. I'm conflicted.

Also trying to decide between AP standards or Dakars.

    OME, Nitrochargers, Dakars.

No experience with the APs but I do enjoy my Dakars pretty well now that they've settled in. Plus that setup by OME was designed to work together.

OME for sure. Rear depends on what you plan on doing. I'm going AP expos since I have a lot of weight. If you plan on adding weight I'd go Dakars and then add AAL when the time comes. If not get AP, those are specifically tuned for comfortable ride that provides lift.

Edit: Expos suck unless you have weight that's why I suggest going with Dakars and adding AAL

Nope. My CVs are leaking though. It's on my list of things to correct this summer.

Edit: people say it doesn't do much but for the ~$30 it cost, I don't know why most don't do it. Including myself.

    I vote Harlan in October!

I just put on a set of AP Expos and love them.

I did, shit for $30 I did it when I was swapping CV axles anyways. Angles are a little better

They usually send spacers with the diff drop, but if you have the cash go ahead and buy some aftermarket skids while you're at it, they tend to clear it easier

Already working on a Harlan trip on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of October. That's the weekend after their FALL CRAWL. Gonna rent (at least one) cabin, have a Friday night and Sunday mid day cook out. I'm getting a small group together from Northern Indiana to drive down. Also trying to hook a few from South Carolina. Only 1 CONFIRMED so far, but it's early. (He's in a Jeep XJ....Forgive me...) Gonna do Putney to Evarts and back again on Saturday. Camping/cabin @ Putney campground. We did MOST of this trail last fall. (About 2/3rds) That took almost 8 hours of driving. It was peak season for fall color last year, but it was a late fall. There'll be a dedicated post starting in a couple weeks in conjunction with the "Official Central Kentucky" thread in Midwest forum.

I'm working on a videographer who shoots for Kentucky Educational TV to go along.

I'm trying to find reliable Yeats cost effective way to lift/level my prerunner.any ideas? I don't know much about toyota partso and aftermarket stuff. This is my first taco. But I plan on putting some rims and aggressive tires on it and maybe a light bar. I already have predator side steps and a grille guard. Just want a more aggressive look. Any advice helps and any of u in the davidson County Wilson county area know of any good shops for customizing your taco lmk

I would read up on Bilstein 5100s if you want a mild 1-2.5" lift or Maxtrax spindles if you want to be up around 4".

anyone know how to get the AC fan (its rounded and looks like the top picture here: http://www.tacomahq.com/1089/broken-fan-tacoma-heater-air-conditioner/ ).

I had SO much dust/dirt in my cabin air filter that I beat about 1 inch all the way around it OUT after my doors off trip. Since then I have noticed it sounds like the fan itself is lagging a little bit and "rubbing". I think I can solve this by taking the fan out, shooting it with compressed air chuck, and reinstall it.

I just dont knw how to get to that fan. I found plenty of forums referring to the blower resister and stuff, but not the fan itself
