Exactly why I bought a new one and not someone's regret for more $$ than a new one.

Some probably bought Msrp plus dealer add ons plus ttl. They finance with no down payment therefore they still owe more than they're worth.

After reading many of the posts regarding the 3G. , I for one would not offer much above wholesale price for one.

While many owners love the Tacoma and have little to no issues. There are way to many who have posted issues and performance dislikes for me.

I test drove a 06 Off Road, It was not bad. I will wait to see what the 2017's bring as far as Toyota fixing some of the issues.

Keep kidding yourself if anything will change, the transmission issue has been resolved with TSB, rear diff issue is in the works (not everyone has this issue), the rest are one off issues. Seeing that you have an 06, you should be familiar with how Toyota operates, not much changed from 05-15, some TSBs introduced to remedy issues, but other than that just minor adjustments and mid cycle update, Toyota nor any other manufacturer is gonna retool a new model/update for the first few years.

The Toyota pickups including the Tacoma have great resale but some people always buy used thinking they will get a better deal without even checking new for a price. Just ask anybody and they will say used is cheaper even if it's not . Remember There's an ass for every seat.

I agree. What I hope is that some of the issues the 16 owners are having will be fixed in 2017. If the issues are not addressed, I will most likely look elsewhere. imo, the Tacoma is getting pretty high priced for what Toyota is offering.

Agree, unfortunately the market dictates, hopefully midsize prices cool off, they are just so damn popular right now.

I agree. Toyota , GMC/Chevy, and Honda have the midsize trucks priced pretty high. Only one I have seen that is a good price is the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier has not had a new generation model since 2005. I looked at a Pro 4x crew cab a couple of weeks ago. imo, it was not a bad truck for the price.

It will be interesting to see down the road a few years how the 2016 Tacoma resale value are.

I hope the same, in general Toyota's hold their value, so not too worried. I traded a 6 month old Silverado mistake last year, wanna talk about crappy resale.

USAFWX covered most of the Big issues right now. I'd add leaf springs and driveline vibes. Crankshaft pos. sensor probably up there too

Leafs and vibes are not new to the platform, plagued some trucks from 05-15, vibes didnt really cause any issues besides annoyance, leaf springs addressed in TSB, then a recall. Toyota is good to maintain their reputation. Major issues will get addressed with a TSB/recall. There's a member who has 30k on his 3rd gen trouble free and some like smitty with issues. There's also 05 owners with 200k miles, and if you go back to 2005 people would have thought the same horrible doom and gloom for the 2nd gens.
