I am not sure where you are located but Waldorf Toyota has a fully loaded 2016 Silver OR 4x4 SB, PT/JBL, Predtor steps on its lot.

I ordered a 2017 DCSB OR w/ a manual transmission on 5/30 and apparently the dealership still does not have a build sheet for the vehicle even thought the order has been "officially" placed with Toyota. Is this normal?? I was told an expected delivery of early September. The wait is slowly killing me!

If the order was accepted you should be able to get a build date and a build sheet. My dealer was able to request the change to a truck in allocation and had the updated build sheet with temp vin. They provided it to me a few days after making my deposit. It almost sounds like they don't have a truck in their allocation yet to alter.

Read some of the previous post. I am in the same situation as you. I ordered mine two weeks ago and have no build sheet. The dealer told me once prices for 2017 are out I will get build sheet

Well, I emailed the dealer and they stated that they do not have a build sheet as of yet. They must not have an allocation for a vehicle yet and it seems a bit unacceptable to me since I placed the order so early...

I don't have a build sheet either. "Ordered" it 10 days ago... so not really surprised. How long does it usually take to go from "production pending" which is what the salesperson says mine is listed as, to having a build sheet and temp VIN? Canada here if that makes a difference.

We ordered a 2016 Double Cab TRD Off-Road with the towing package and a standard transmission in quicksand six weeks ago. It arrived at the dealer today and we are going to pick it up Saturday. Unfortunately it does take a while.

My wife hates driving a stick and hates the color even more. Perfect...this means the truck is all mine.

Similar to what I ordered. I was told 8 weeks. I am willing to wait for the right vehicle. Where are you located?

We are located in coastal Washington, buying the truck through I-5 Toyota in Centralia, WA. It has been on a truck for a week now in transit, so this has not helped our cause. Granted, we are not taking any trips for a couple of weeks, so we really do not need it, but it is going to be fun to finally have it so I can start doing a few things like getting racks installed, ordering a SnugTop shell, and doing a little "testing" on some of the bakc roads in Capital Forest.

I think I'm writing this purely to vent, so if you don't like drama, here's your warning. And if there's a more appropriate thread for this, I apologize in advance.

I saved up for three years for a Tacoma and did all the research I could before finally ordering one in early May from Victory Toyota in Seaside, CA. I was set on a white DCLBOR with the premium audio pkg and tow pkg. Dealer tried everything they could to get me into another, more convenient Taco. It eventually took two months for the truck to come in, which was fine. I waited three years, what's two months? Truck arrived in mid-June with a few extras that I specifically asked to have removed from the build sheet such as Predator Tube Steps, Bumper Step and a few other things totalling about $1500. Dealer wouldn't budge on the price insisting that my truck is super rare and a dozen other dealers were looking to do trades to get their hands on it.

Now I've worked retail for nearly 25 years, so I know a pitch when I hear one. Despite numerous attempts at walking, they took $350 off the sticker. I'm feeling a little insulted at this point, but I just wanted to drive away in my truck and move on. Emotionally, that hasn't happened...physically, I love the truck and will no doubt forget about the extra $$$ spent. I even thought about reordering a 2017 since it was so late in the year (I'm thinking more about resale value than annual improvements). Sales person said '17's weren't coming out until December, maybe even as late as February, so I gave up and signed the papers. I despise lying salespeople, but that's redundant.

Anyway, rant over. I do enjoy the truck. Wish I had a better experience with the dealership. Took about 45 days to get the VIN and then a week after that for delivery. In the meantime, anyone interested in a bumper step or Predator tube steps? lol

I will make a long story short. I ordered a double cab manual TRD Sport on May 11th. 2 weeks later the dealer said they had their allocation and permission to build and would get me the info soon as they had it. They avoided my calls and did not return calls when I had left voicemails. 4 or 5 weeks from the day I made my order with the dealer, they told me "we will have the build date 100% first week of July, your vehicle is a unicorn". First week of July comes and no phone calls so I call, the inventory manager says he will call me back he is in a meeting...salesman calls me and says "I'm sorry to say but we can no longer get any 2016s which have to be built, you will have to wait for the 2017 model year, but we don't have prices or info yet.". I simply said to him, "get the sales manager to call me back". The sales manager called me, told me he could make a major deal on one on the lot. I basically told him to f off, they lied to me telling me they got their allocation and permission to build, made me with 8-9 weeks then told me they couldn't build it "but we can give you this truck you didn't want". What they were offering was a TRD Sport 4 door Auto, which is the longer truck. I do not want the longer truck. He offered me 1250 off the MSRP...sorry no deal. I went into the dealership the next day and railed on him, told him this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I would be telling everyone I know, using social media etc. what had transpired at the dealership. He walked away and came back with a list of all the vehicles he could get fast, and a few on the lot. None of them were the 4 door short bed manual trd sport I had ordered. In the end, I got the TRD Off-Road Access Cab Manual, in Quicksand, right off their lot. They had just taken delivery of it on July 4th.

Here's the deal: I got $3000 off the MSRP, running boards, cleats, and protective film for the hood and bumper all thrown in for free (over 1000 dollar in value) and another 1000 added onto my trade. In the end, they lost money on this deal, but they have the best reputation of all dealerships in the city of all vehicle makes, and they were willing to take a hit, admitted they made mistakes in the ordering process and didn't intentionally screw me over. I'm not overly pleased with what happened, but in the end I got a more expensive truck for a lower price, with accessories and protection thrown in that I wasn't going to get before.
