Got most of the teardown completed this weekend. This have to brace the front frame rails before I can cut the "engine cage"(I use that term loosely) loose and jack up the Cab. @ahspurlock stopped by and gave me a hand getting the fuel tank, exhaust and bed off. I'll have to haul most of the body panels home for storage and may even paint them there when that time comes. Overall didn't get as much done as I hoped but still made good progress. I wanted to blast the frame this weekend, at least the bed portion, but that doesn't look like it'll happen.

    On to the pictures:

Every bed bolt was stuck. Impact wouldn't budge them. Ground them all off with the flapper wheel. That's about as fun as it sounds in a sheet metal box that's probably 130degrees

Fortunately the bed is lite enough to lift with one hand and shove a jackstand under.

Removed the bedsides, which I'll haul home and moved the tub to the side for now. This may get hacked up to become the floor of the flatbed

Fenders off. Mostly they were held in with zipties. I'll fix that

Might as well fix the interior while I'm at this:

More hack work, he enlarded the opening for the steering shaft, now I have to figure out how to make that weatherproof again

I'm back at work now, but I'll go back this afternoon to haul more body panels home and clean up my tools. Oh and seal the fuel tank with Gorilla tape before the fumes kill us all

Just go take a class at your local community college its worth it, i've learned a ton considering i spent $125 for the class. Fairly sure i've burned through more than 125 bucks worth of metal.

Be prepared to have those foa's rebuilt. Notorious for leaking until you put better seals in them. Atleast there old stuff used to.

I'll ask. I planed on getting them for mine but my dad talked me out of them. He got a used set for his Jeep and has had nothing but trouble with them. Had them all rebuilt with foa seals and they leaked and then had them rebuilt with different seals and stopped for a while but the fronts started leaking again last time out. For the amount he has put into them to get rebuilt, he could have got a set of fox or the alike. Which he is going to do in the next few months.
